Eminem Relates To Michael Jackson Over Prescription Drug Problem

Eminem recently compared his struggles with drugs to that of Michael Jackson’s own public battle with prescription medication, sharing that on any given day, he used to swallow up to 90 pills.

“It’s very similar to what I’ve read about Michael,” Em said. “I don’t know exactly what he was doing, but I read that he kept getting up in the middle of the night, asking for more [drugs]. That’s what I was doing.”

Eminem has regularly alluded to his previous addiction to prescription medicine, which began during his 8 Mile filming in 2002. “I was taking so many pills that I wasn’t even taking them to get high anymore. I was taking them to get normal…I want to say in a day I could consume anywhere from 40 to 60 Valium. And Vicodin? Maybe 20, 30.

“My everyday regimen would be, wake up in the morning and take an extra strength Vicodin and it’d be Vicodin throughout the day. Then, as the evening crept up, I’d start with a Valium or two, or three, or four. And every hour on the hour, I’d pop four or five more.”

His last two albums, Relapse and Recovery recount his experience, including his road to sobriety. Eminem is currently gearing up to take Saturday Night Live’s stage with Lil Wayne.

    1. WTF eminem don’t you know millions of fans love you and would be sad to miss you gone..and your daughter and your new daughter.. Thank God you got clean

      1. yep thats the differance between them Em never had celebs bashin him n clownin him publically making him feel he needed to take drugs to escape it

can relate psssh muthafucka please YOU PROLLY MADE SHIT WORSE FOR MJ

    2. maybe more people will take his lead and stop doing prescription pills for recreation and then becoming dependent on them.

never heard about that shit happening with weed.

      1. then you must live in a cave

millions of people have weed dependancy and feel the need to get baked every single day, i spent 5 years get baked everyday, wakin n bakin n continue on throughout the entire day and night

and especially in hip hop theres tens of thousands of people who blaze all day every day including dozens of rappers who speak about blazin constantly on wax

      2. there is no such thing a marijuana dependancy.

its just an excuse. when you’re not baked you dont go through the pai that heroine, meth and pain pill addicts go through.

if you get dependant on weed you’re just a pussy

    3. Prescription pills are made from the chemical in opium that gets u high. So if u use pills ur basically a heroin addict without the needles. Stop using pills people.

      1. actually he could… commin from someone who is strugglin with addiction myself he could easily relate to MJ… it takes an addict (or former addict) to truly understand what an addict goes threw on a day to day..

*waits for the corny hype jokes*

      2. Umm yeah he could.

both had a hard time handeling their fame and lock themselves away in their own castles taking drugs on a daily basis just to feel normal. its called a chemical dependancy and they cant function without them

    4. Please, 12 year olds take stronger shit in bigger quantities then Em was taking. Unless he’s not telling the whole story of what he was doing he should just stop crying.
