Ice Cube Accepts Movie Offer From Common

West coast legend Ice Cube has accepted Common’s offer to one day work on a film together.

The news may come as a surprise, as the two rappers are onetime rivals, when a war of words escalated to the point that Louis Farrakhan arranged a meeting to urge Cube and Common to resolve their differences.

“When we had our little issues in the 90s we sat down with Farrakhan and he told us why we needed to be brothers and squash it,” said Cube to AllHipHop.com. “Since then, I ain’t never had an ill feeling towards Common. We’ve seen each other on several occasions and it’s all love, like it never happened. I’d be down to do a movie anytime. Anytime.”

Ice Cube’s extensive film resume includes a wide range of films including Boyz N Tha Hood, Friday, Barbershop and Are We There Yet?

Common has found success in Hollywood, too, with films like Smokin’ Aces, American Gangster and Terminator Salvation under his belt.

“He’s in Hollywood and I’m in Hollywood. We are both leading men and we can do this,” added Ice Cube, whose I Am The West album dropped recently.

    1. Good to see. Both got loads of talent and about to be breaking bread together.

On another note, Cube we need another Friday, with or without Smokey. The Franchise did pretty damn good without him. I hope you got something on deck…

    2. http://losangelesraiders.blogspot.com/

In 1982, Raiders owner Al Davis beat the NFL in court and moved his team from Oakland to Los Angeles. With a squad as colorful as its owner, the Raiders captivated a large numbers of black and Hispanic fans in L.A. at a time when gang warfare, immigration and the real estate boom were rapidly changing the city. The L.A. Raiders morphed into a worldwide brand as the team’s colors, swagger and anti-establishment ethos became linked with “Gangsta Gap” and the hip-hop scene that was permeating South Central Los Angeles. Rapper-turned-filmmaker Ice Cube was not only witness to this evolution, he was also a part of it. As a member of the notorious rap group N.W.A, Ice Cube helped make the silver and black culturally significant to a new generation and demographic. Still a die-hard Raiders fan, Cube will explore the unlikely marriage between the NFL’s rebel franchise and America’s glamour city, and show how pro football’s outlaw team became the toast of La La Land.

    3. I can already guess the rating for this new movie.. something below PG-13 fo sho. Haha, do yo thing cube.

    4. these other rappers need to learn from these cats whom are able to squash beef and work together….stop letting the rap game get in yo’ head!

    5. i ain’t crazy bout cube movies to be honest but i’m glad he’s doing his thing…hopefully he and common come with something interesting…and not your average slapstick comedy

    6. Cube is a good actor, Common still got work to do, I think.. But this sounds really cool.

Can you guys proof read your articles before you post them. Don’t just count on spell check. It’s annoying

    7. haven’t liked Cube’s movies of late. He was good in the Friday movies, Boyz in the Hood, and Higher Learning. Barbersop was decent at best.

As much as I like Com as an emcee, he doesn’t show a wide range in his movies. He always seems so monotone.

I’d take Mos Def as an actor over these two anyday.
