A member of the ’90s Sik Wid It Records group Funk Mobb, Mac Shawn 100 was an active voice in the Bay Area’s rise to national recognition. After leaving E-40’s imprint, the former Jive Records artist headed to the notorious Death Row Records to appear on controversial compilations such as The Chronic 2000: Suge Knight Represents, and Too Gangsta 4 Radio. A close affiliate with Tha Dogg Pound, Shawn was promised a solo album with the popular label that never surfaced.

It was announced this month however, that Mac Shawn has now teamed up with Snoop Dogg, Creator Director of Priority Records, to sign a contract to the historic imprint. Shawn has released his single “And You Know That,” and is said to be at work on his proper solo debut.

Priority Records is also presently home to Cypress Hill and Snoop Dogg. In related news, Mac Shawn 100 is featured on Tha Dogg Pound’s latest single, “Smell’n Like Brand New Money,” from their album 100 Wayz.
