Tupac Shakur Documentary To Be Released January 25, 2011

A new Tupac Shakur documentary is set to be released next year, according to reports.

Yesterday (September 13) marked the 14th anniversary of the west coast rapper’s death, and it was in memory of the occasion that the announcement was made.

Uncensored and Uncut: The Lost Prison Tapes is due to hit stores on Tuesday, January 26, 2011 (Monday, January 25, 2011). The documentary features a never-before-seen interview with Tupac from inside the Clinton Correctional Facility, where the rapper was incarcerated in 1995.

The interview reportedly covers his relationship with his mother, the infamous 1994 Quad Recording Studio shooting that nearly left him dead, and his goal to be an uplifting influence on the black community.

Preorder information is available on Amazon.com. (September 14)

UPDATE: On January 25, one of those interviews is available uncensored, in full on DVD. The New Video Group will release the Ken Peters-directed, 44-minute Tupac: Uncensored & Uncut.

HipHopDX will keep you posted of the contents of said DVD.

    1. Pac’s a legennd and “arguably” the gr8est ever. wit that said, lets the man rest in peace, literally. we dont need 100 000 documentaries in titled to his life to help us remember him. his legacy will live on with out people profiting from it.

    2. the greatest rapper ever, plz let tupac rest in peace the legend will forever live on without these documantries. i think now they are goin to do more harm than good for his legendary status. tupac for ever

    3. I AGREE WITH EVERYONE LET THE MAN REST IN PEACE BECAUSE I HAVE ONLY SEEN ONE DOCUMENTARY THAT REALLY TELLS THE TRUTH ABOUT WHY TUPAC WAS KILLED AND WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

WITH THAT SAID HE WAS THE BEST AND THE REALEST TO EVER DO IT

    4. lol, 2pac haters saying stop exploiting him, lol, they aint exploiting him, they making him more bigger by doing this, we no yall haters just mad that yall favorite rapper aint look as a martyr like 2pac, dont hate, lol, by the way, he coming out with another album also haters, lol.and a Movie and etc, lol.

      1. You are one ignorant bastard. Wanting their favorite rapper to rest in peace makes them hater? There is no such thing as a Tupac hater. Every rap on the planet has respect for him you fool. We’re not talking about Lil Wayne or Jay-Z. Yes they have haters/fans but tupac is way above them.

    5. I understand the whole stop exploiting him thing, but in no way do these things hurt Tupac’s legacy. And I’m sure his mom’s is making money off of this, (not in a greedy way I’m just saying she must be receiving compensation) and I think we all know Tupac would support that. Also you guys think you know everything about Tupac when in reality we don’t know anything except that his persona was not who he was. We never really got to know him as he perceived himself at his full potential. These documentaries and movies if done right can help us with that. Now with that said if they fuck it up I will be super tight

    6. There just scraping the bottom of the barrel to squeaze whatever penny they can get out of his fame. One last documentory is no big deal cuz at least he iddn’t have a low quality piece of shit lifestory movie like the one that diddy put together for b.i.g. Pac’s lifestory movie is going to be ten times better, with an oscar winning director and an oscar winning screen writer

    7. What’s interesting to me having research Pac and Biggies Deaths recenly after The Biggie Movie is, why is there so much interest in solving the Biggie murder but not the Pac one, or did i miss it?

    8. On the one hand i see why this is googd but its still kinda creepy that people are still trying to dig up pacs past for the sakke of proffit. And if thats not it the what the fuck are they doing?

    9. i dont understand why people keep saying “let him rest in peace,” or “stop profiting off pacs death,” When i as a fan love it when someone releases some type of movie, documentary, or music that has to do with Tupac. I want to know more about his life because it is so interesting and if someone is making money off telling us and showing us an in depth perspective on the great legends life then why not? I know damn well that most of you will watch some if not all of the documentary and i know that most people saw past ones as well.

      RIP Pac

    13. i respect pac and biggie equally. pac was real like that other brother you never had who said eveything you could identify with and much more. biggie was the coolest dued that ever lived, with a hold no bars attitude in his lyrics

    14. 44 minutes u fucking kidding, when is the big l the devil son documentary coming out 4 fuck sake how long do u have to wait.

    15. I love Pac, but y’all gotta let the man rest in peace. Stop trying to profit off his fame and death by releasing bullshit “never before seen” footage and remix albums.

    16. I dont know why ppl are tripping about this, I am one huge pac fan, got his name tatted on me so i can alwayz remember him, And he made all this music and interviews for his fans, he knew he had an early death ahead of him, so he worked harder and harder and he wanted to alwayz be remembered so for Tupac and for Us the fans, Bring out everything you got

      1. it’s because they’ve been milking Pac’s name for the past 15 years man. You have to realize that leaving his legacy to his music alone will be enough to remember him by. You don’t see all this documentary bullshit as much with Biggie and people still know about him and his legacy.

      2. Are you serious? You got another man’s name tatted on you? A man whom you’ve never met? Are you stupid or just retarded? I’m sure you’re gay, but stupid and/or retarded has to be added to your character

    17. I’m tempted to see what this documentary is all about and I know for certain I will watch it. BUT in all honesty how many Tupac dvd’s can you put out? The number of docs on this guy is probably the same number of albums he has out. At what point does it go from letting people know more about Pac to straight up exploitation? We’ve pretty much heard all we can hear about Pac. Nowadays it’s about making a dollar off his name. Like I said, I’ll watch but it’s gonna be depressing, once again, to see such wasted potential.
