2010’s Underground Music Awards are held Sunday night (August 22) at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill at New York’s Times Square. With Ice-T and Naughty By Nature collecting this year’s Pioneer Awards, other trophies were presented to a range of Rap artists and personalities in the awards’ sixth year of running.

This year’s “UMA Male Artist of the Year Award” went to Roc Nation’s J. Cole. The companion award, “UMA Female Artist of the Year” went to veteran emcee and Polyrhythm Addicts member Tiye Phoenix. The “Indie Album of the Year Award” went to Statik Selektah’s 100 Proof: The Hangover, released on Showoff/Brick Records.

HipHopDX.com was proud to receive the “Best Website/Online Magazine Award.”
