MTV has confirmed that Eminem will be performing live at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

The move looks to continue Eminem’s 2010 domination, as the rapper’s sixth solo studio release, Recovery, reclaimed the #1 spot on the charts last week, and hit the double platinum mark.

The rapper is also nominated for a staggering eight VMAs. The show will include performances by other artists such as Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Drake and B.o.B. Others confirmed in attendance are Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz and Ne-Yo.

Eminem has a long history of performances at the VMAs, perhaps none more famous than his live rendition of “The Real Slim Shady” (during which Eminem led a drove of look-a-likes) and “The Way I Am” (see video below).

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12 at 9:00 PM EST. Additional performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.
