Seattle’s Ian Taggart and Kingston Macguire make up Blue Sky Black Death. The production duo has several releases on Mush and Babygrande Records, including an acclaimed remix album with Brooklyn’s Jean Grae (Evil Jeanius). Now with Fake Four, Inc., BSBD has teamed with Alexander Chen, known as Indie-Pop vocalist for Boy In Static and The Consulate General.
As a trio, the team has completed Third Party. The September 7 release. The collaboration came to be when Chen relocated from San Francisco to Sweden in 2010, where the Washington natives happened to be.
Blue Sky Black Death is not the first hardcore production outfit in 2010 to try a new genre. Earlier this summer, Jedi Mind Tricks (who have worked with BSBD) producer Stoupe worked with Liz Fullerton as Dutch on A Bright Cold Day, released on Enemy Soil.
