Kansas rapper XV was signed to Warner Bros. record label this past week. The 25-year old emcee announced via Twitter the huge development.

“I’ve been touring since March,” he told Kansas radio station Power 93.9. “I toured with Kid Cudi. I toured with Clipse after that. Then I toured with Chiddy Bang last June. July was my first month off since March.”

XV, who started rapping at the age of 15, said that although two other labels wanted him (including Atlantic) he took Warner’s multi-album deal because he felt the label had the room to grow.

“The thing about Warner is they have very few top dogs. I wanted to go to the team that didn’t have LeBron, Bosh, and Wade on it.”

XV has released thirteen mixtapes since 2006, and is set to drop his latest, Vizzy Zone, sometime this year. His first album will be called The Kid With The Green Backpack and is also scheduled for a 2010 release.
