Raekwon Plans Deluxe Gold Edition Of "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2"

UPDATE: Rae told DX last month that he was dropping a new gold edition to OB4CL2, now see what's included, such as remixes with GZA, Game & Bun B, plus videos.

On August 1, 1995 Raekwon released his classic debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Co-hosted by Ghostface Killah, the RZA-produced album for Loud/RCA featured various members of the Wu-Tang Clan, as well as Nas.

Speaking to HipHopDX last week, Raekwon revealed that next month he'll be releasing a "Deluxe Gold Edition" of that album's 2009 sequel, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...Pt. II with new bonus materials. "I'm really excited about that," said Chef. "There's gonna be some new material and stuff that y'all never heard before. I'm just tryin' to just secure my fan-base. I'm lettin' 'em know that Rae is here. I'm not tryin' to do no five-year hiatus no more. I'm tryin' to be as relevant as I can right now."

Having regained critical acclaim last year (including HipHopDX's Album of 2009) by way of his fourth album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...Pt. II as well as guest-work, Raekwon stressed that longevity is his key goal. "I'm workin' hard and I'm losin' a lot of rest to stand the test of time, and let everybody know that I'm still here."

There is no word when in August the Deluxe Gold Edition will come, but Rae clarified to DX this evening that it will include new remixes and unheard material.

HipHopDX will keep you updated about the release date for Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...Pt. II: Deluxe Gold Edition. (July 17)

UPDATE: This evening, it's been revealed that Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...Pt. II: Deluxe Gold Edition will feature two new songs, and five new remixes.

The new songs include "Rock Stars" with Wu-Tang Clan affiliates Inspectah Deck and GZA, as well as "Never Matter To You," which features fellow '90s Rap peer Bun B.
