Brooklyn Bodega and YUME Music have partnered up to showcase Hip Hop in Brooklyn. For a week in July, there will be an effort to showcase various sides of the culture, ranging from family-friendly days to educational Hip Hop discussions and live performances from numerous artists including De La Soul with the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival.

Monday is the Show and Prove Superbowl as six artists compete for two slots on the main day, July 10th. Kalae All Day, St. Joe Louis, Poetic Republic, The Crowd, Mikeflo and Ashy L. Bowz are set to compete with Large Professor acting as the DJ for the day.

Tuesday the 6th will be the Bodega Education Initiative, where the legacy of J Dilla will be the main focus. A panel discussion and seminars will explore the work of Dilla and his impact on music in an academic manner. Q-Tip, Raydar Ellis and the J Dilla Ensemble will join Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, JD’s mother.
