Kobe Bryant: Bringing Hip Hop Together

April 27th, 2001 | Author:

Despite being dropped by Columbia Records, Kobe still want to make moves in the hip-hop community. His label, Heads High Entertainment is planning to release an all-star single called "Cherish". The track will be a remake of Kool and the Gang's hit with the same name. The song will feature Nas, Gangsta Boo, Mia X, Ludacris, Next, Layzie Bone, Shaq, Sisqo and 112. Kobe will also be featured on the track, not as a rapper but reciting violence related statistics.

The single's proceeds will go to the Cherish Foundation, which benefits victims of school violence and their families to help pay for funerals and counseling. The video and single should hit the shelves in September.
