NYPD calls hip-hop a "culture of Violence"

New York's police department must hire some really top-notch thinkers. Apparently, all people with the same job act exactly the same way.

"It would be ignorant for us to ignore the fact that there have been violent incidents where the only common denominator is the music industry," said NYPD spokesman Sgt. Brian Burke.
Apparently, the NYPD has noticed a few rappers getting into trouble lately, and has decided to monitor clubs frequented by rap types. They have labelled hip-hop a "culture of violence," and even have their gang unit compiling a file on rappers who have been arrested.

Forgive my editorial views, but this is totally ridiculous. The cops could have found just as many criminal truckers, waiters, cameramen, dentists, whatever, and labelled those professions as "cultures of violence." Call it racism, silliness, naivety, but just don't call it quality detective work.
