Two artists big on collaboration are Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs and La Coka Nostra’s Ill Bill. HipHopDX learned this morning that the duo will release Kill Devil Hills on August 24 through Fat Beats Records.

The California pioneer producer and Brooklyn emcee/producer worked together previously on Bill’s acclaimed 2008 release, Hour of Reprisal. Kill Devil Hills will feature early ’90s alumi Raekwon, Sean Price, O.C., Everlast and B-Real, along with Sick Jacken and others.

“I prefer getting in the lab and actually creating projects with people instead of just sending out beat CDs. I’m a producer in the fullest extent, where I like to not only produce an album; but craft an album. Being able to start a record from the beginning and following through with it, making sure that all the songs compliment each other. I’ve always come from making albums and producing my records—I’m still into that” said DJ Muggs in a statement.

Previously, Muggs has done fully produced, in-studio albums with GZA and Planet Asia, in addition to his solo/Soul Assassins catalog, Cypress Hill work, and late ’80s work with group, 7A3, signed to Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate imprint.

The duo will also be among the headlining acts for this year’s Rock The Bells traveling festival.
