Between Rock the Bells and Hot 97’s Summer Jam, the summer holds a number of events sure to get fans excited. For residents of Harlem and its surrounding areas, that event is the Rapathon.

The Hip-Hop Culture Center in Harlem, or H2C2, is holding its fourth annual Rapathon beginning this June 26 at 4pm and concluding the following day at 7pm. The event is a massive, profanity-free cipher showcase, featuring hundreds of different emcees from across the globe. Since its inception in 2006, the event has added one hour to the cipher, with this showcase marking totaling in at 27 hours. In addition to the cipher, there will be a one hour segment dedicated to the legacy and impact of legendary Bronx rapper Big Pun.

In a departure from years past, this years Rapathon will be documented by Ralph McDaniels, creator of the seminal television program Video Music Box. McDaniels will be broadcasting the event in its entirety from his website.
