Fans who counted Obie Trice out after his departure from Shady Records might want to wait before they write him off.

On May 7, the Detroit rapper will launch his new label, Black Market Entertainment, LLC, at Via Nove, a Detroit restaurant.

Scheduled to attend “The Obie Experience” are high-profile artists such as Eminem, Akon, D12, Dr. Dre, Trick Trick, DJ House Shoes, Royce Da 5’9″, and others such as Chris Webber and Jerome Bettis.

“Recognition for Detroit artist is a must, and Black Market Entertainment will be a conduit,” said Obie via statement.

Also on the horizon is Obie’s follow-up to Second Round’s On Me, the long-awaited Bottom’s Up. Trice has signed a deal with Universal for the album, which will feature an appearance by Eminem, with whom Trice remains friends.

A portion of the proceeds from the launch party, which takes place from 7-9PM, will be donated to the Southeastern Michigan Pop Warner Youth Football and Cheer League. Also contributing to the donation will be the proceeds from the after party, which takes place from 10PM-2AM at Via Nove, with music by DJ Salam Wreck.
