DX News Bits: "We Are the World" Edition

When the remake of "We Are the World" was unveiled, much was made about the track. In fact, it was at the center of a parody  on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, one that poked fun at Bizzy Bone and Fonzworth Bentley's involvement and Auto-Tune, among many other things. The clip, which starred Jennifer Lopez as Rihanna, was a dig at the remake but more has come from that song.



Stars from across Latin America have also decided to remake the original "We Are the World," with the first ever Spanish version of the track. Gloria and Emilio Estefan led the project, which was paid for Univision and filmed February 19 in Miami, Florida. Rappers Pitbull and The Black Eyed Peas' Taboo joined Daddy Yankee, Shakira and more for the track, which will donate proceeds to the We Are the World Haiti Relief efforts.



The remake, which was the inspiration for both of the videos made above, can be seen below.
