Bay Area Veteran Mac Shawn 100 To Release "Tha Bigg Fish"
Death Row Records may remember Mac Shawn, as the label's lone Bay Area besides MC Hammer. A longtime associate of E-40, Shawn released 1997's Music Fo' The Mobb, which featured various Sik Wid It Records artists as well as Daz Dillinger. Released on Swerve Records, Shawn would find himself on Death Row during Suge Knight's incarceration, and appeared on compilations such as Suge Knight Represents: The Chronic 2000 and Too Gangsta For Radio, as well as the unofficial Daz and Kurupt album Dogg Pound: 2000.
After leaving the infamous label at the top of the decade, Mac (now as Mac Shawn 100) remained close with Tha Dogg Pound family, working with both Daz and cousin Snoop Dogg in recent years on underground projects and compilations.
Boasting his strong affiliation with both Snoop and Tha Doggfather's Priority Records, today it was announced that Shawn will release his sophomore album, 13 years later, Tha Bigg Fish. Due this fall, the album will feature Snoop, Daz, E-40 and Turf Talk.
The album's two singles include "And Ya Know That" and March's "Party Don't Stop," featuring Daz.
