On Tuesday, will.i.am announced his initiative to recycle plastic "junk" into usable fabric as part of a joint green effort with non-profit organizations Rethink, Green For All, and the League of Conservation Voters. The Black Eyed Peas member said that his current tour made him aware of the alarming amounts of garbage and plastic left after shows. The Peas are asking fans to donate their plastic bottles after concerts, rather than leaving them behind.

"By not leaving junk you are contributing style, fashion, enabling new fashion designers utilizing this fabric," he explained. "You see water bottles not as containers that house water, but eventually clothe your body."

will.i.am hopes to start a green fashion trend and raise awareness about climate change and clean energy during the U.S. leg of B.E.P.'s The E.N.D World Tour.
