DX News Bits: 50 Cent, LL Cool J, DJ A-Trak

Rapper 50 Cent will be joining actor Val Kilmer for yet another movie. The film, which is entitled Gun, delves into the world of drug trading and also shows the effect the drug trade has on the friendship between the characters played by 50 Cent and Kilmer.

The project, which is based on a screenplay created by 50 Cent, is currently being filmed in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is produced by Emmett/Furla Films, Cheetah Vision Films, and Action Jackson Films.

Another rapper-turned-actor who is reaping the benefits of Hollywood is LL Cool J. "NCIS: Los Angeles," the television crime series LL stars in, is in the running for the television show to have the most viewers during its premiere.

On the show LL stars as Sam Hanna, a special agent and former U.S. Navy SEAL. In the past few years, LL Cool J has starred in a number of movies and television shows including Any Given Sunday, S.W.A.T., and Deep Blue Sea.

In other Hip Hop news, DJ/producer A-Trak is just one of few artists to possibly lend their producing skills for Madonna’s 12th studio album.

According to the New York Post, A-Trak joins the likes of Brendan O’Brien and David Gueta as possible producers on Madonna's album.
