The Hip Hop duo that is Capone N’ Noreaga (CNN) recently filmed themselves preparing for an upcoming show with Raekwon: playing arcade golf, recording in a hotel studio, and more. On top of that the duo also caught up with Raekwon and producer 9th Wonder before their show in North Carolina.

Both 9th Wonder and Raekwon gave their thoughts on the upcoming follow-up to CNN’s War Report album.

“Much respect to ya’ll man,”
said 9th Wonder. “From War Report to NORE’s solo album to one of my favorite Capone N’ Noreaga joints ‘The Invincible’ that Premo did.”

“Yo put it like this. All I’mma say is get ready for another classic. You know what I’m saying. Niggas is really on they shit 3,000 percent…Niggas is on they grind hard body,”
Raekwon added.

The follow-up to War Report, which was released in 1997, is expected to be released some time in 2010.

CNN for life!! Can't wait for the album! Channel 10 was dope too and deserved so much better! It would be cool to hear Primo, Marley, Carlos Broady, Trag, Havoc
and Alchemist providing the beats for this.

  • blitzlegga:

yo, it ain't War Report with Khadafi. If they really want to recreate a classic, they got to get all the pieces back together. Rae did it with Cuban Linx 2 by finding Cappa and putting him on there. They gotta get some joints from Tradegy, even if he's locked up....

    @WOLFMAN

LOL! Yup, publicity stunt. Aye, it worked for Raekwon with OBFCL2...

WTF are u talking about "publicity stunt??"

Do u even know what KHORDKUTTA was talking about?? He was speaking on DX about how they said this was CNN's "follow-up," when THE REUNION was the follow up. Where in the hell did "publicity stunt" come from?? And how in the hell was it a publicity stunt with RAE's OB4CL2?? Just using someone else's comment as a scapegoat to talk some bullshit. All that hating is unnecessary. Stick to the topic at hand please. SMH.

Umm...yes. KHORDKUTTA is saying The Reunion is the follow-up to The War Report... what's so hard to understand about that??

Rappers are now using the titles of their BEST and MOST RECOGNIZED ALBUMS as sequel's.... so when you hear The Carter 3, or The Blueprint 3, or ONLY BUILT FOR CUBAN LINX 2 (WHICH IS A FOLLOW UP TO OBFCL1, YOU STUPID FUCK), it's a marketing scheme to build anticipation for another album like it's descendant, the one people all loved -- you simple-minded retard.

Rarely will this album live up to its descendant (e.g. Blueprint 3 is not like the Blueprint). And, CNN has not had good chemistry since The Reunion, so they are due for something that is GOOD. THIS IS THEIR WAY OF GETTING BACK INTO THE PUBLIC EYE BY RETURNING TO CLASSIC FORM WITH AN ORIGINAL ALBUM THEME FROM 1997.

THATS WHY I CALLED IT A PUBLICITY STUNT. Do you understand now?

I didn't mean to offend you, you sound like your on Raekwon's jock. I even said IT WORKED FOR RAEKWON. WHAT ALBUM BEFORE OBFCL2 was good??

  • DJ Top Dollar:

If anyone remembered anything about the first album (by the way still rocking it) was that capone was in the bing for most of the time the album was recorded he is only on like three tracks if I remember correctly. Trad and Nore held down the first album.

  • LO Godfather:

Being a hardcore fan of the first album.i'm definitly amped for this..part 1..like OBCL is an album of epic proportions ..a big as movie..that album made its mark when wutang was real think in the air you were breathing..

so much respect to the god chef for making it happen..i'm exspecting nothing short of genius

  • Link:

Quietly... CNN dropped one of the nicest albums last year with "Channel 10" so I'm really looking forward to this one.

The original "War Report" was a classic to me.

  • GGENERAL:

lol, real talk, this aint the follow up, but if they wanna say part 2 than that's fine. moving along here, now if it come out hot then i will be coping it. I still got the first one, imma little suspect tho. havent heard anything decent from cnn in awhile. luv the chef combo, and i trust rae's gut right now. 9th wonder(nuf said), has all the ingriedents to be something special. the question is, will it be. im open to it, what a lot of these youngns dont understand is. theres a lot older artist on they grizzly right now. it aint just jay-z that up there in age(hate to rain on the haters parade). check ya favorite rappers age. chances are there right behind jay, right there wit him, and in some extreme cases even past him in age

"I used to think rapping at 38 was ill/ but last year alone, i grossed 38 mil/ even tho im not quite 38, still/ the flow so special, gotta 38 feel... the real is back"

  • moh112:

How can they make The War Report 2 without Tragedy Khadafi?!

  • khordkutta:

And here i thought that "The Reunion" was their follow up?!?!? WTF HHDX!!!!

    • wolfman:

LOL! Yup, publicity stunt. Aye, it worked for Raekwon with OBFCL2... So maybe CNN can recapture some of that charisma they had from The War Report. It was definitely a classic.

Whatever helps make hip-hop better.. I'm all for it.
