Beanie Sigel’s verbal assault on Jay-Z has claimed at least one known casualty: a now scrapped new collaboration between Beans and his longtime Roc-A-Fella Records teammate Memphis Bleek.

“You know what’s crazy though, man, and I’ma be all the way honest,” began Bleek when asked last Friday (December 11th) by HipHopDX if any of the old Roc crew will be heard on his upcoming new album, The Process (now due March 23rd), “I got a ill Just Blaze beat that I had for me and Beans to do before all of this shit popped off. But then it’s like, c’mon I can’t – What I’ma do?”

“Hey, it is what it is,” he continued regarding his newfound estrangement from Sigel, “and we just have to see where it go from here. I know you dying to ask me questions about how I feel about him. I’ma tell you some real shit my nigga, that’s my brother. That’s my nigga. I don’t feel no ways [different] as I felt from when he signed to us back in ’99. I feel the same way today. That’s my nigga. And that’s it. He can say what he wanna say. Him and I know the truth. He know what’s real, and that’s just it. It’s all rap shit. Some people do things that you can look at and be like, ‘Yo, why?,’ but at the end of the day you just have to be in they mind frame and figure out – Try to understand what they thinking at that point in time. But like I say, he never stole from me, he never did nothing physically to me, none of my peoples, none of my family. That’s still my brother.”

Bleek is apparently taking the high road and choosing not to respond in kind to the lyrical jabs being lobbed at him by his former fellow Roc Boy. Just as many onlookers are dumbfounded by Beanie Sigel’s beef with his onetime musical family, Bleek explained to DX that he too is clueless as to the reason for Beans’ words of late.

“I don’t know what the real problem is, fam,” replied Bleek when asked if money is the motivation behind Sigel’s verbal attacks aimed primarily at Jay-Z. “We just did a show…um, how long ago was it? It was about like…I think almost like eight months ago now, in Vegas. We had a show together – me, him and Freeway. We was out there for two days kickin’ it. Nothing ever came up then. [And then] I just seen him at the Powerhouse show. Like two days before all of that shit popped off, we just had a ill conversation at Powerhouse. It was me, him, all his niggas there, my niggas, we was kickin’ it, choppin’ it up and nothing ever was said… So you know, I don’t know what it is. I doubt it could be money motivated. He’s a hustler. He know how to get money. We all from – One thing niggas could never take away is the history that we [made at Roc-A-Fella]. So, as far as him getting a [new label] situation, I know that ain’t the problem.”
