DX News Bits: 50 Cent, Diddy, Chris Brown
After popular web-based broadcasting platform Ustream successfully premiered Shakira's recent video on its website, the site is now reaching out to other artists. According to Digital Music News, 50 Cent and Diddy are the most recent celebrities to use the platform to promote their personal projects. 50 is premiering his film 'Before I Self Destruct' (the companion to his album of the same name) today (Thursday). The premiere will include a live chat by the rapper, and can be found on ustream.tv/thisis50.com at 9 p.m. ET.
Diddy is also using the website to broadcast his 40th birthday party. Those expected to attend will be Spike Lee, Lil Kim, Russell Simmons, Queen Latifah, and others. The birthday bash can be viewed on ustream.tv/ptwittytv.com.
In other news, Chris Brown is flying back to Los Angeles to update a judge on his current probation, according to the Associated Press. The young R&B singer was ordered to five years of probation after pleading guilty to beating his ex-girlfriend, singer Rihanna.
Brown is finishing domestic violence counseling and six months of community service while promoting his third alubm Graffiti, due out on Dec. 15.
