With collaborations ranging from Bob Dylan to Kenny Rogers to Carlos Santana under his belt, it did not come as a shocker to see another onetime Brooklyn resident, Cyndi Lauper work with Wyclef Jean. Lauper appears on this month’s Toussaint St. Jean: From The Hut, To The Projects, To The Mansion retail mixtape with DJ Drama, released by Megaforce/Sony Red. The two will be taking “Slumdog Millionaire” and performing it on this evening’s airing of Late Show With David Letterman.

Lauper, a chart-topping artist through the early ’80s, and a frequent star during the earliest days of MTV, is best known for her hits “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “She Bop” and “Time After Time,” popular sampled by ’90s New Orleans Rap duo Kane & Abel.

Clef will also be performing tomorrow (November 17) at 6pm for the grand opening of Best Buy‘s Union Square, New York store.
