Gucci Mane Sentenced To Year In Prison
Less than a month after Lil Wayne was sentenced to a year in prison, another southern Rap superstar, Gucci Mane, was given the same sentence today. Although sources have yet to confirm what Gucci Mane's specific violation was, the Asylum/Warner rapper was sentenced for probation violation. The 12 month stay in Fulton County Jail can be cut in half, if Gucci demonstrates good behavior.
The rapper has been free for less than nine months, after a previous probation violation landed him in jail from late 2008 until March of this year. The initial charge was for assault, dating back at least two years.
With appearances throughout 2009, Gucci Mane is predicted by many, to have a potentially-platinum album in December 8's The State Vs. Radric Davis. The album is Gucci's sixth overall, and second on a major label. The effort has confirmed production from Drumma Boy and Polow Da Don.
