Lil Boosie Violates Probation, Gets Double Jail Time

After failing to uphold the conditions of his probation terms, Lil Boosie will be behind bars earlier than previously expected, with an extra two years tacked on to his original two-year sentence. After being charged with third-time drug offense and and a first-time gun possession infraction in October 2008, the Louisiana rapper was sentenced to two years of a suspended ten-year sentence. However, after his ankle monitor revealed that he had violated the terms of his house arrest on multiple occasions, the judge doubled his jail time to four years.

“I made some very foolish choices, but I was doing the best I could to provide for my family before I went away to jail,”
Boosie wrote in a statement. “Clearly I exercised terrible judgment and I hope to get the opportunity to prove that I can make great decisions for my family and the community in the future.”

The original two-year sentence most likely would have seen the rapper facing a year in prison with good behavior. In addition to the extra prison time, Boosie will have to spend another two years under supervised probation after his release to erase the gun charge from his record.

Lil Boosie recently released his album Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz, and told MTV last month that he will be dropping a new album upon his release.
