Smokey Robinson To Keynote 2010 South By Southwest

The South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival, known for gathering the world’s most well-known artists and music professionals, is back again, but this time with a keynote speak who boasts quite an impressive resume. Smokey Robinson, known for his influence on the Motown sound, has received Kennedy Center Honors, a spot in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, the "UK Special Achievement Award" at the Ivor Novello Awards and The ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Heritage Award.

Robinson will make the keynote address at the conference, which will take place in Austin, Texas from March 12th through the 21st, with the interactive festival taking place from March 12th through the 16th, the film portion-taking place on March 12th through the 20th, and the music festival, which will end the festival, on March 17th through the 21st.

Although Robinson has already accomplished so much in his lifetime, he is still greatly involved in the music industry. He can be found mentoring American Idol contestants, and he is still even recording new music. His newest album Time Flies When You’re Having Fun, was released on August 25, 2009 on his own record label, Robso Records.

The 2010 South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival will mark the festivals 24th annual conference and festival.
