Knowalazarus The Rebirth
Always wanting to be the first at everything, you have to know, Knowa!!! Knowalazarus, straight from Queens New York, is of Asian descent and speaks fluent spanish, you can find him resting in the Richmond Hill section of Q-York. Q-York also being the name of his company, while managed by another neighborhood fam member, Fredidats.

Knowa got bitten by that infamous bug, at 16 yrs old, he was a proficient poetry writer, which followed hand in hand by wanting to impress the females, as he says "The motivation to do alot of things in this world is the women, because women have that power, women can wave a hand make a man cry." He also admitted, "See back then I had a big mouth. See I flapped to some friends that I can rap, so they took me to this local club which hosted an open mic session, told me to get on stage. I freestyled something can't remember now. Once I was finished the crowd was chanting something, saying 'look at this dude, Bruce Lee on the mic.'"

Knowa has experience in this game, he saw two unsuccessful stints within a group situation, when he carried the name "Knowa-the-Unknown" but did not let that be his demise. Put in his words, "We are here now, basically just through the things I've been through, realizing I can stand alone as an artist, hence forth being known as Knowalazarus, kinda representing my rebirth."

Rhythm: If you were to reep the benefits and experience, at the close of business, what would that be?

Knowa: I just want people to be like, he was one of the best!! That's it (he and his people came with their own, style). And you know... they did, they did what they had to do! Bent the rules a little, did it the way they wanted to do it. Basically to be mentioned, be remembered, like to show an example, like yo!! if you put your mind to it, you can achieve it. Because there are alot of people even at this point, you know...that I knew before, that didn't believe in me when I started like "laughing, Yeah go ahead do you." And now when you see those people they are like, "When is your album dropping, Oh yo, yo! I heard that joint you had, it's hot."

Nonetheless Knowalazarus has evolved as an artist from those days, now at twenty-two years old, he has already completed and promoted his first EP, precisely titled "The Conception" which has garnered enough support from the foundation members, he calls Q-York Senate. Along with some noteable industry collaborations, Ron Artez (Chicago Bulls forward), Nature, QB's finest also doing shows with Bars 'N' Hooks. He wants to enter the game whether, he or another Q-York Senate member enters first, he knows that's how everyone's going to live well. He emphasizes, "I do it...for the money, only saying what money represents in this world, not because I have a piece of green paper. I do it, because in this world, you can be the smartest man on this earth, but if you have no money! especially in this society they don't care about what you have to say, but if I were Bill Gates, everyone will be listening."

Rhythm: Is there anyone you can name, that you aspire to be like?

Knowa: To me see...I don't look at people, like I want to be like this person, or be like that person. What I try to do is, study people. I look at what they do, kind of take the best parts of what they are doing and adapt it to my style. Look at Bruce Lee's fighting style, his fighting style was a mystery and combination of all style, basically he took the best parts that fit and worked for him. Then made it his own. That's what I do...I can go on forever, see I am a strong Hip Hop fan about who I listen and look up to, as well as those that have given a lot of inspiration to me. I want to be the first, Knowalazarus, but I know that I am going to get the comparisons. Simply, I know that my writing style is similar...I am inspired a lot by Nas. Some even say I sound like Big-L, others say Eminem slowed down.

Rhythm: What do you think about hip hop music today?

Knowa: I mean...it has its moments, but to me, it doesn't seem like people are hungry, they are getting lazy, you understand. "Yeah, we getting this money, this is what it's all about," and that's it. No one's pushing the barriers anymore, they are relaxed, eveythings about the same mold. For example, back in the days you could have named five or six great MCs, but they all had different styles. Now!!...it all just redundant. No one's using the creative edge.

Rhythm: What do you think about the Politics of the business?

Knowa: It's f--ked up, the business is f--ked up!! But I have to look at it as if you want to be in it you have to play it, honestly when I was in a group that's why I was there!! I didn't believe in myself, that I had the business sense, so I didn't want to deal with none of that. So it was like, "Yeah yeah!!! whatever, whatever". I just wanted to write rhymes. As I grew older, read a few music books, you live on your own, you begin to understand. You have to know everything, not do it all but, but know it... That how I look at it.

After, listening to his music, and then interviewing Knowa, it came together, that he has molded his thoughts and craft to be one with his business aspirations. That being, if puts his best with a plan and surround himself with others hard workers, with a continued effort to seek out working relationships, and support, look for Knowa at an arena or video screen nearest you soon, or link to www.knowalazarus.com check out the EP, but stay tuned for the Full-Length. Great potential, independant thinking and consistency will eqaul his success. In some last words Knowa says, "Even though we are doing these collaborations, and people are good people. Never disrespect yourself by putting your faith in someone else's hands, make it happen yourself."
