HHDX: Why did you choose the title Wanted for your 4th solo release?
Bow Wow: I was needed back in the game. I felt like the game wasn’t the same and it wasn’t exciting anymore. I feel like the fans were ready for me.
HHDX: What makes you more of a threat this time around now that your 18 years old?
Bow Wow:? I feel that I stepped my game up tremendously this time around. A lot of people big me up with respect telling me that I stepped it up too. I feel like I dominated my weight class and now I’m up there with the Lil Wayne’s and other cats like that. Now that I’m 18, I can talk about the ladies and what I do
HHDX: Since you feel like you’re on a different level now who do you look to for guidance on your way to possibly dominating your new weight class??
Bow Wow: Jay Z. That’s my mentor. He has a pass on him that allows him to go anywhere he wants from the business side to the street credibility side 95% of people love him to them he’s #1. I take a lot of notes from Jay. My 1st thing is to take care of my business and get my label off the ground and to help mold other artists. I’ve been doing this since way before but now I just want to do it better. I produced a song on this new album and executive produced my last album Unleashed. But now my boy and I Deon are just focusing on running my company and making it a success. LL is also a mentor of mine as well as Snoop but Snoop is more like a big brother to me.
HHDX: What details can you give us about you and Ciara if any, that we don’t already know?Jay Z.
Bow Wow: Not much, that’s my girl and we have a song on my album called “Like You” that you have to listen too because on that song everything we talk about is real
Now don’t be shocked when you hear the song withCiara sounding like a young Beyonce and Bow Wow sounding like a Young Hova. It just goes to show you that the young greats follow the old greats and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
HHDX: After your years in this industry what drives you to keep going?
Bow Wow: The artists that came before me because every time I spit I have respect for the game. I still got murals (art) of Jam Master Jay, Biggie and Pac in my room at home. I just love the game and what it stands for and I’m glad to be a part of it.
HHDX: What do you want people to remember about Bow Wow years from now?
Bow Wow: I’m better than what people think I am. I’m doing mix tapes now just getting my skills up even more. If I could really say what I wanted to say It would be a problem. I want them to say damn that boy was hot.
