HHDX: Do people treat you differently because of who your father was?
T’yanna: Well, with kids, they be like, “Oh, B.I.G. was your dad… cool! Let’s be friends!” That was it… but with some adults… I can’t even explain it. They would try and get close to me or my brother; they’d want to meet my family. It just seemed like they were out for a freebie or wanted something out of knowing me. But other than that, people treat me pretty normal.
HHDX: It’s interesting you said that, your brother and you have not been in the public eye. Why step out now?
T’yanna: I think that with the 10th anniversary of his passing that me being here, talking about it, would be special.
HHDX: Being that your father was heavily involved in music, would either one of y’all have plans to do the same?
T’yanna: No. Honestly, I think that my brother should rap because he’s really good at it. [Laughs] He sounds just like my father. But me, personally, I don’t have any aspiration to rap or sing. I can’t sing at all.
HHDX: Being that no one should live with regrets, if there was one thing that you could ask your father – what would it be?
strong>T’yanna: I wouldn’t ask him anything, truthfully. I would just tell him that I love him. I wouldn’t need to be like, “Did you love me?” Because I know that he loves me. I was his life. His family was his life. I didn’t need to ask him something like that. I would just want him to know that I love him. ![]()
