Young Jeezy: Inspirational Snowman

December 13th, 2006 | Author: Quinton Hatfield

HHDX: I feel you on that, cause I’m from the east-coast and I’m kind of mad at east-coast rap right now.

YJ: I mean that’s just what it is thought homey, it’s just different strokes for different folks. Cats do represent though, Jimmy(Jim Jones) and them doing they thing up there, their movement is down this way too now and we respect that. We like to see cats stay with they movement and continue to do what they do, so it’s looking real good.

HHDX: I mean it’s all good though, everybody get their time, you feel me.

YJ: Yeah, it always does the history repeats itself, it goes right back around.

HHDX: No doubt, I’m trying to see who is next!

YJ: Yeah me too [laughs], I might go sign somebody over there.

HHDX: Right, what’s the message you trying to spread with this album, especially for the streets out here?

YJ: My thing is inspiration, I want to give them something to live and die by. At the end of the day if a cat feeling a certain way I want to pick him up. If he’s feeling down I want to pick him up, if he’s on top of his game I want to keep him there. I just want them to know I ain’t change nothing. I could’ve went for the cross-over, I really could’ve and what’s crazy is I hear a lot of cats say “My music is this”. I’m lyrical with reality, a lot of cats is lyrical with words. When you touch the hearts with men, it’s like you said with ad-libs. People recite your ad-libs and say certain things they feel how you feel. That what makes it a movement and not just a song or just a record, you feel what I’m saying, it makes it a movement.

HHDX: I feel you on that, that just shows you not just speaking for the trappers, you speaking for all the college students and everybody that’s trying to do they thing [laughs].

YJ: Everybody, I’m speaking for everybody that wants something out of life man. I’m speaking for anybody, I don’t care what you do.

HHDX: You don’t grind, you don’t shine!

YJ: Exactly man [laughs].

HHDX: So the snowman is back I see!

YJ: Yeah man... I’m a keep it me, I’m a keep it snowmental. I’m just gonna do what I do, I’m looking forward to the 12th definitely though, because it’s like judgment day to me. A lot of cats saying I can’t do it again and I can’t see how. I gave them “Streets is Watching”, how can they doubt me man? I gave them “Trap or Die” how can they doubt me homey? I’m here and I ain’t going nowhere.

HHDX: Okay, we going to see what’s good in December!

YJ: Let’s see, judgment day!

HHDX: No doubt, good looking on this interview Jeezy you have anything to say to the readers of www.hiphopdx.com ?

YJ: Album in stores 12/12 and lets get it, The Inspiration!

HHDX: Can we get that quick ad-lib [laughs]?

YJ: Jeah [laughs]!
