G-Unit paid a visit to Power 105.1 sans Young Buck and Kidd Kidd and it was nothing short of enlightening. Fif’ was talkative, and he let go a swath of information regarding Dr. Dre and his relationship with him, looking to purchase Murder Inc., and how Suge Knight was preparing to off Dr. Dre. Heavy stuff.
He also touched on a bevy of other topics in a way that only Fif and G-Unit can, including how he would have bailed out Shmurda. So, below, we picked the ten quotables that blew us out of the water.
The Disconnect Between 50 Cent & Jimmy Iovine Affected Dr. Dre
50 Cent: “Overall, the disconnect between me and Jimmy created the distance between me and Dre.

There’s no doubt that the 50/Jimmy/Dre/Eminem foursome transformed the music industry in the early aughts, and there’s no doubt that the relationship between 50 and Dre seemed to be strained from the beginning. Now, out of contract, we see that not only did it have to do with personal disconnects between the two men, but that Fif’ felt like a “Knicks player in the Lakers locker room” partly because of his disconnect between he and Jimmy Iovine.
50 Cent Inquired About Buying Murder Inc.
50 Cent: “Yeah I saw it and looked at it. It even made me look at what it would cost. I aint gone lie, I was like yo how much would it be? It would be cool to do that cause you can. It’s just to finish it off. In the Laws [48 Laws Of Power], you destroy it completely or you offer someone more passion because you hurt them.”

The biggest send off in the history of beefs would have been 50 acquiring Murder Inc. after he demolished Ja Rule in their previous beef over the years. It would have been the very definition of cold blooded.
Suge Knight Was Going To Kill Dr. Dre
50 Cent: “You have to understand, man. Suge was gon’ kill Dre. He was gon’ kill him because ‘Pac was making number one records and Dre wasn’t producing any of ‘em. And ‘Pac was getting ready to be done.”

That Suge was planning on killing Dr. Dre according to Fif’ because Dre was becoming a liability with Tupac on his way out and Dre producing none of his number one records at the time. So how do you keep ‘Pac? You offer him Dre’s half, according to the Machiavellian emcee.
“The Beast Is G-Unit” Happened The Week After Summer Jam
“This was the first week. This music was from the first week from when we did the Summer Jam show and all that. Following that was when we recorded this.”

Using the momentum gained after Summer Jam, the group went to Fif’s house in Connecticut and knocked out The Beast Is G-Unit in a week. Which is insane.
50 Cent Called Empire Hip Hop’s Version Of Glee Before Impersonating Show Director Lee Daniels
“It feels like you’re watching a televised performance; a play. I watch it and I have a lot of friends on it. You have Terrance Howard there, Timbaland is the music supervisor….Even the director communicated with me a few times. He’ll be running up on me like you said this about my show and I say yeah but they don’t say it’s your show.”

It’s nothing new that Fiddy has talked much about Empire in regards to his own show Power. From the interview, it sounds as if he actually enjoys the show and understands the differences between the two. Then he does his Lee Daniels impersonation and the comedy ensues..
50 Is “Probably” Betting $1.6 Million Dollars On Mayweather For His Fight Against Pacquiao

50 is possibly preparing to bet $1.6 Million On Floyd “Money” Mayweather’s upcoming fight against long time rival Manny Pacquiao. Pac’ isn’t as formidable as he once was, but it should still be the fight of the 2000s if both fighters come correct. Whatever the case, 50 Cent put a pretty penny down on his pal, and I’d think he expects him to deliver.
50 Cent Says Only Baby Would Have Supported Wayne Until He Blew Up
50 Cent: “He paid him. They’re relationship is different. I think if you say it can get blurry and say this is our money cause it’s father and son. For a long time, he put into Wayne. Wayne’s hit album was his sixth album. He would already be out of the game. Anyplace else without the passion a father has for his son, no one would have continued to pour money into you.”

It’s just factually inaccurate to say that Wayne didn’t blow up until his sixth album. In fact, Wayne’s first album Tha Block Is Hot went platinum a month after it’s release according to the RIAA. In fact, both Lights Out and 500 Degreez went Gold as well.
50 Cent Would Have Bailed Out Bobby Shmurda
50 Cent: “Even the “Hot Nigga” record from Bobby and them sounds like Drill Music to me. That’s Chief Keef to me… Why they won’t make bail? I would have had to, I bail out nigga who aren’t even my artist.”

After 50 Cent essentially described New York’s identity crises in terms of Hip Hop, Charlemagne brought up his thoughts on Bobby Shmurda’s recent legal issues. The G-Unit general thought Epic should have bailed him out on principle.
Expect Frequent Releases From G-Unit
“It’s going to be a lot of music coming out. El Chapo coming out, Cold Corner 3 coming out. I think Kidd Kidd got a New Orleans joint he’s working on.”

Clearly, the independent route must be working in both 50 Cent and G-Unit’s favor. Releases over the past year have been pretty consistent since Fiddy’s first release as a free agent, 2014’s Animal Ambition. Add a few G-Unit reunion projects (featuring newest member Kidd Kidd) and looks like the collective has finally gained momentum. There are even future individual releases as well.
Tony Yayo: “We beat somebody up for Dr. Dre.”
“I could say it now. No disrespect to LA, but it was a whole bunch of New York dudes beating somebody up for Dre. He’s cool. I like his music and everything. I just feel when you beat somebody up I feel like they owe you a little bit.”

Looks like G-Unit’s loyalty to Shady/Aftermath ran deeper than on the surface. Tony Yayo even alleged that they defended the honor of Dr. Dre through their fist. And one must understand the code of the streets. Beat someone up and there’s always debt to pay for that amount of allegiance.
