Sometimes Hip Hop can move at a pace too frantic for even the most devoted fan to keep up with. Albums and mixtapes are released at breakneck speed, careers are made and broken with the swipe of a pen, and somewhere in between all the madness actual music (the quality of which vacillates between excellent and god awful) is being made. Twitter provides a nice summary of everything 140 characters at a time. And if you’re the type that would rather not be bothered with stepping into the Twitterverse to catch up on the latest in Hip Hop, we’ve filtered through the top rapper’s tweets and consolidated all the week’s events into one convenient feed.

This week, Hip Hop producer Larry Smith passes away, J. Cole accompanies fan in watching “Top Five,” and both Bobby Shmurda and his GS9 get arrested on conspiracy to commit murder and gun possession charges .

“Anonymous” Says Iggy Is “Guilty Of Misappropriating Black Culture”

It’s been a no good, very bad week for Iggy Azalea. She’s come under fire from damn near every corner of the Hip Hop sphere for what some see as a blatant rip-off of black artists. Azealia Banks (who must be her archnemesis by now) has continually done so on Twitter, and did so in spectacular fashion in an interview on Hot97. Now, she may or may not have Anonymous on her back regarding what they see as her “making light of Eric Garner’s death.” Truly, her rise to celebrity has collided with protests in the streets regarding police brutality, violence and denigration.  It seems Iggy Azalea is right at the forefront of the backlash, the causes of which outdate her significantly.
