Sometimes Hip Hop can move at a pace too frantic for even the most devoted fan to keep up with. Albums and mixtapes are released at breakneck speed, careers are made and broken with the swipe of a pen, and somewhere in between all the madness actual music (the quality of which vacillates between excellent and god awful) is being made. Twitter provides a nice summary of everything 140 characters at a time. And if you’re the type that would rather not be bothered with stepping into the Twitterverse to catch up on the latest in Hip Hop, we’ve filtered through the top rapper’s tweets and consolidated all the week’s events into one convenient feed.

This week, the principal at Nicki Minaj’s former high school declined her request to speak to the students and Iggy Azalea denies the sex tape rumors that have been floating around.

Nicki Minaj Rejected From Former High School

“That school changed my life and I wanted to pay it forward to the students there now. I was really looking forward to it,” said Nicki Minaj after getting her request to speak to students denied by LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts’ principal. Nicki Minaj wasn’t the only one that was disappointed. Her fans chimed on Twitter with their own disappointment at the situation and had only great things to say about the “Anaconda” emcee. Her alma mater might not want her to inspire their students, but there’s another school in New York that has offered her a chance to inspire theirs.

Ja Rule Asked For NFL Ray Rice “Life Ban”

Ja Rule didn’t agree with the extent of the punishment the Baltimore Ravens gave Ray Rice after TMZ released the full video of the football player striking his then-fiancee now-wife Janay Palmer. At the time, the Ravens revealed that they had terminated Rice’s contract. Slightly after the tweet, the NFL revealed that Rice had been suspended indefinitely. Although “suspendd indefinitely” doesn’t mean “life ban,” it was like the NFL heard Ja Rule whisper in their ear.

It’s hard to chose your favorite track off Jay Z’s 2001 musical opus The Blueprint, which just celebrated its 13-year anniversary. It’s even harder to choose your favorite track if you’re a producer on the album with multiple credits. When producer Just Blaze was asked what his favorite The Blueprint  track that he produced was, he replied with the fan favorite (all of them are fan favorites) “U Don’t Know.” The triumphant intro with mixed with a command from Hov –”Turn my music high high high high-er”– easily makes the confident track one of the album’s standouts.

Iggy Azalea Rejects Sex Tape Rumors

According to porn company Vivid’s Steve Hirsh, the sex tape could “make more money than Kim Kardashian’s tape with Ray J.” Which sex tape you might ask? A tape that was released involving Iggy Azalea and Houston rapper Jefe Wine. Iggy and her camp originally denied that there’s such a tape and later, TMZ reported that her camp acknowledged that there may be a sex tape. Iggy hasn’t updated her comment after denying it. Whether you like Iggy or not, having someone release an intimate moment is a completely invasion of privacy. I’m with Iggy on this one. Read the rest of her original Twitter statement, here.

Immortal Technique is never one to hold back his opinions. When Floyd Mayweather commented on the Ray Rice controversy, the emcee made sure to call him out. It’s just not caught on video, if that’s safe to say.” He, who has had his own issues with domestic violence allegations, apologized the next day saying, “Domestic violence is something I don’t condone.”
