“It’s cool that we’re in the next section because we are what’s next.” Duo Live

Try not to be confused when it comes to these two brothers from “Do Or Die Brooklyn” because they’re doing what it takes to live life to the fullest. With every breath, Fre and Sid are thinking about providing life on every beat and displaying passionate gasps on each piece of verbal artwork. DXNEXT focuses this week on a group that’ll make most duos look underdeveloped, overrated and understaffed. Peep Duo Live - a hood founded double team mixture of traditional Hip Hop from a progressive approach.

Hailing from: Brooklyn, NY-Bedstuy to be exact.

Current works: An album set for release on October 19th called The Color of Money. They’re also doing shows on Talib Kweli’s promo tour, preparing for a tour opening up for Angie Stone and also preparing to go on tour with KRS-One and Public Enemy, as well as a mixtape with DJ Absolut. They’re also promoting the single, “Princess” featuring Fabolous.

Connects: Angie Stone and the support of Wendy Williams. 20,000 fans have bought their album on the streets. Keep in mind they’ve been in The Source, Billboard Magazine and Vibe.

Past collabs: Angie Stone, Fabolous, Jodi Breeze (Boyz N Da Hood), dead prez, Jimmy Cozier, Talib Kweli, Alicia Keys, a couple of people in the streets and honesty “probably haven’t done as many features” as they could have.

Life outside of rap: Fre loves to spend his time with beautiful women, bowl and watch funny ass movies. Sid loves to cop new sneakers and mess with his son.

Life before rap: They were doing this since they were 13 and in the words of Sid “It’s pretty much been our lives.” Between the ages of 9 and 10, Sid was traveling, while playing the drums in exotic places like Barbados. Fre was in a “pudding pop” commercial while studying the lyrics of Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and other respectable Hip Hop figures.

Career sum up: According to Sid, “On the come up and definitely the next big thing.”

Three words to describe the music: “Three words to describe our music: That’s what’s next,” those are the words of Fre, that he felt was so explanatory.

Discover the music: www.duo-live.com and you can cop the album (when it drops) in F.Y.E. and every Best Buy across the nation. Also refer to www.myspace.com/duolive.

Fre’s perception of Hip Hop: “I love Hip Hop and I’m actively working to play a bigger role in Hip Hop as an art form and in the development. We’re working hard to become champions for Hip Hop across the globe. The goal of Duo Live is to be the Exodus of Hip Hop across the planet, through the music. I love this sh*t.”

Message to the people: “It’s redemption time.”
