HHDX: When we first started talking you were telling me about a magazine and a movie that you had in the works. Can you tell us about that?

LI: Actually… my friend is a director. I don’t really want to put too much out there. He’s doing a movie and I have a role in it. It’s in the works. I’m also working with Sean Cummings. He recently just got his own magazine called Show and I’m supposed to be working with him. I am supposed to go to Los Angeles to do a photo shoot for him. So, that’s what is in the works with me.

HHDX: You’ve been featured in music videos, print, and online. What has been the most difficult to deal with?

LI: I haven’t had any problems, really. I don’t have a problem with anything. I’ve been pretty blessed to stay away from all that. The only thing is… my man doesn’t like what I do. He’s Googled me online and has seen my pictures. That is what bothers him. He just thinks that I should keep my clothes on. I just think that he’s being greedy [laughs]. He doesn’t want his friends to see me. One time, they picked up a copy of Black Men’s Magazine. I’m one of the girls featured in one of the advertisements. They saw me. My boyfriend has only really just talked to me about it, but I’m following my dreams and no one is going to stop me. He can disapprove of it all he wants, but I’ve bought him the gifts with the money I’ve made modeling and he didn’t have any problem with that [laughs]. So, that’s the way I see it. If anything ever happens, and I blow up, let’s say I buy him a car… he’s not going to say no. He sometimes doesn’t want me to do the Black Men’s, but these magazines will work with you. They’ll allow you to do what’s comfortable for you. I’ve had a great experience with Smooth Magazine; the editors there are older women and they’re really cool.

HHDX: What has been the most rewarding to your career?

LI: I would have to say that the most rewarding thing has been the recognition from other models. I’ve had models write to me and give some really nice compliments. I love writing to people. A lot of others won’t do that, but when people give me compliments, I try to help them. I like to do that for other people. I help give out advice, because a lot of people don’t know what to do. There is a line between what I do and what others do. If I had to compare myself, I would have to say that I’m like Playboy Magazine, whereas there are a lot of girls who act like they are in Black Tail. Continued on page 4 »
