The voluptuous centerfold model maybe blessed with two moons of her own, but that hasn’t stopped this 21 year-old beauty from an active lifestyle and bringing smiles both near and far. So, sit down, grab some cushion and listen to Ms. Moon as she talks about her top five highlights of 2008, why Lil Wayne versatilite and what to look forward for in the next year.
Beauty & Brains: Wishing upon a star may work for those who are trying to make something out of themselves, but what has been the hardest means of breaking into the business for the ’08?
Ashley Moon: Pretty much the hardest means of breaking into the business is just dealing with learning the basics of everything. At the end of the day, it’s really about learning who’s real and who’s fake. There’s a lot of fakeness in this industry. You really have to see who’s about business and who’s not.
B&B: As the year has dwindled down, what were your top 5 moments of this year that you love and hate?
Ashley Moon: I’d say definitely first would have to be the fact that [Barack] Obama won the presidency. That was definitely one of the top events that I loved about 2008. I started modeling this year too and that was great. I turned 21, too. That was fun. I went to a concert for my birthday and we had a huge after-party. I even went to the Day 26 [click to read] concert and now that I’ve seen them perform live, I love them even more.
B&B: I’m pretty sure you’ve had enough comments about your boobies to last a lifetime, but if there had to be one standout come-on that you heard this year, what was it and how did you respond?
Ashley Moon: Wow. I wouldn’t say that I’ve gotten any good one’s. Most of them are pretty much the same. They refer to them as my full moons and they try to relate it to two moons. I get that the most. They’ll write it on my Myspace page. I honestly don’t really respond to most of those comments because if someone’s really trying to get with me then they wouldn’t come at me like that. They have to have respect in their way of talking to me.
B&B: Lil Wayne also had a great year, musically, but what are a few things about the Louisiana rapper that you hope will change for 2009?
Ashley Moon: Honestly, I think that he’s just wonderful. He’s really focused. If you ever talk to him, he’s on a whole different level than most of the people and rappers in the game. At the beginning of this year, he said everything that he wanted to do. He broke into a whole new genre so I wouldn’t change anything about him for 2009. He’ll be able to reach great heights going the way that’s he’s going.
B&B: Music as a whole has changed and with that the game is wide open for new fresh faces to make an impact on the culture. Who are a few artists that you hope to have some success in the new year?
Ashley Moon: One person who I love so far is Jazmine Sullivan. I have her album and she’s definitely on her way to being out there. She’s nominated for a Grammy and I think that with her and Common [click to read] now branching out that they’ll be presenting a new sound. I’d like for those two to be successful.
B&B: Obama has won and his message of change is something to look forward to, but what are some things in 2009 that you can’t wait to have happen for yourself?
Ashley Moon: Man, Obama winning changes a lot of things, but it takes us to work hard to help make that progress on-going. I really hope that for the next year everything will start escalating for me on a personal level. I would love to be doing more photo shoots than I’m doing now. The goal is to be on two magazine covers for 2009. I’m doing one next week, I can’t say for who, but hopefully when that gets done, I can make my way into more music videos and go on from there.
B&B: Any well wishes you want to give out to your fans and readers for the holidays?
Ashley Moon: [Laughs] Happy Holidays to everyone!
