With the bona fide success of So So Def Incumbent Lil’ Bow
Wow
, No Limit Records launches
there own teen idol by the name of Lil’
Romeo
. The son of No Limit
Entertainment
Mogul Master P and
the nephew of Silkk The Shocker,
drops his self-titled debut.

Before any skeptics demoralize this No
Limit
release, the album does contain some positive content, sustaining
consistent foundation of radio friendly tracks with a touch mainstream appeal. Romeo began his musical endeavor, with
the auspicious debut in 2001 with the release of My Baby, a pop single built on a sample of the Jackson 5‘s I Want You Back.
Other solid efforts would be the collaboration of Your ABCs with Lil’ Bow Wow
and That’s Kool with his famous
uncle.

The negative aspects are very noticeable throughout the album. Commencing with
the exposure of his lackluster and underdeveloped lyrical flow, is sub par to
say at least. The adolescent lyricist should be incarcerated for some weak
lyrics that spit outs in tracks like Little
Soulja’s Need Love Too
and The
Girlies
. Even though he receives instant gratification and admiration from
young audience, he will not be nominated for “Lyricist of the Year”
anytime soon. Another menacing quality to this self titled release will be his
obvious repetitive material that dampers any convincing rhymes that are based
through his tracks. To say progression and development is needed, will be
understating factor.

Lil ‘ Romeo will obviously sell
overwhelming amount of records due to his young stature, his bloodlines and to
his overbearing female fan base that would probably even buy strands of his
hair. With the redundant comparison to Bow
Wow
, it would be the consuming listener and his famous father that will
eventually devise arrangements to elevate Romeo
to another level of success in the rap industry.
