Brand Nubian
Fire In The Hole
On "Where are you Now" BN spit about non-loyal individuals who only grace a person just to see what they can get out of it for themselves. Triflin ass niggas and bitches...hate em. "Niggas Just Don't Learn," is a concoction of a hard ass track combined with intelligent wordplay which encompasses stories of hard headed ass niggas who just won't or don't care to learn that genocide is still present with them in the middle of it. Thus this makes them a partial contributor to the deletion of many members of our race. Niggas just won't learn. Stand up and grow up or die.
"Still Livin In The Ghettto" is as the title suggests and the notes and the production on this one also stand out. "Momma" is a heartfelt but also humorous ode to the mothers of BN. Showing that no matter how hard life was or is, having love for ones mother is a timeless thing.
From their stunning debut in 1990 wit "One For All," to the critically acclaimed "Punks Jump Up To Get Beatdown" without Grand Puba, to "The Foundation" and "Don't let it Go To Your Head," Brand Nubian has always stood above the rest and delivered Knowledge Wisdom and Understanding in its purest form. A good comeback for the God's from New Rochelle and the Boogie Down. Listen and learn. 1
