The jury is still out on whether the second installment of the Fast & Furious will be as successful as the original Vin Diesel vehicle, but there is no need to even convene court in the case of the soundtrack (was their even a real soundtrack to Fast & Furious 1).
This time out the music to drive by (props to CMW) is overseen by the machine known as Def Jam records, and for the most part they deliver a power packed soundtrack that surprisingly fits the movie. Unlike most of the recent soundtracks that just throw a bunch of album outtakes together the songs on 2 Fast 2 Furious actually have something to do with the script. First up to bat is current King of The South, Ludacris with the first official single off the set “Act A Fool” which finds Luda telling listeners to do just that when ticked off, this is a definite club banger.
Standing out on this hit-filled compilation are songs by some of the South’s finest. 8 Ball hits hard with “Hands In The Air” produced by Du Real. Trick Daddy “Represents” for the 305, and Lil Flip switches the pace up on the pimped out “Rollin On 20’s.” Even though Dead Prez are Brooklyn residents it’s clear that they have not ventured to far from their FAMU days with the Revolutionary But Gangsta “Hell Yeah.”

2F2F also features the already club staple “Pump It Up” from Joe Budden and the soon to be heavy rotator “Pick Up The Phone” starring the unlikely but effective trio of Tyrese, R. Kelly and Ludacris.
2F2F is a good soundtrack anchored by some hits but there is definite filler here, although it was cool to include some lesser-known MIA talent (the movie is set in Miami) those artist just don’t quite live up to the proven hit-makers that make the compilation shine.
