I have yet to see the movie, but if this compilation of mid 90s tunes is any indication, then the 8 Mile movie gets two thumbs up. The early to mid 90's saw an explosion in Hip Hop, with influential groups coming both the East and West Coast. It was the golden era of rap music. This compilation takes you back to those days and the journey is nostalgic utopia indeed.

No Eminem tracks are listed on this album; but, you will find such classics as "Juicy" from the late and great, Notorious B.I.G., "Runnin" from the West coast group Pharcyde, as well as two from Queensbridge's Mobb Deep: "Shook Ones Pt. II", and "Survival of the Fittest".

East Coast flavored tracks dominate the album, so if your looking for hits from Snoop, Dre, and any member of NWA, you're out of luck. However, if you're a big Wu-Tang fan, solo entries from ODB, and Method man are present, as well as the proverbial classic "Cream".

"More Music From 8 Mile" is a great collection of gritty, raw, definitive 90's music and is a great assemblage of artists from that era. If you don't already have most of these songs on tape, mp3, or the albums they all appeared on, then you owe it to yourself to pick this up.
