Def Jam recording artist Ja Rule is returned to drop his sophomore album titled Rule 3:36. Ja Rule‘s distinctive grinding voices has compelled him to super stardom and unlimited potential. His lyrics on Can I Get A, set his foundation in the hip hop game. This appearance on Jay-Z‘s club track propelled Rule into the urban spotlight and he has left hip hop fans scratching there heads in his unknown identity at the time.

The Queens, New York native, second’s album has Rule experimenting with varied sounds and styles, far departure from his debut album Venni Vetti Vecci. Ja Rule displays his arsenal of lyrical terror in this album through the mixture of radio club joints and street wise cuts.

The album’s debut single Between Me and You, is definitely a chart topper and a requested dance floor favorite. The other radio friendly tracks to lock into would be Extasy, It’s Your Life and Put It On Me which features the sounds of fellow Murder Inc. member and upcoming star Vita. This particular track is probably the sleeper track of the album, due to its catchy hook line and club floor beat.

Ja Rule
has distinct talent to combines his regular rap flow with hook lines. He has similar delivery as DMX and Wyclef, where potentially is capable in spitting his own hook lines and chorus. The sound is infiltrated throughout the album and is definitely intriguing mixture of Ja Rule’s unlimited repertoire.

The downside to Rule 3:36 is that, due to Ja Rule‘s distinct sound, is that he sounds somewhat repetitive and not credible. I was personally annoyed with his out of place and disappointing skits throughout the album. Which in result, is the only direct flaw to the diverse album.

Ja Rule
in Rule 3:36 does solidify his mark on the hip hop spectrum and he will set his stature in the urban spotlight with his producing, rapping ability and his acting.
