Politicin' in Da Hood

Los Angeles, NYC & Philly!

Week 7
Los Angeles , NYC & Philly

LA
-- the first day we get there we get the illest invention of all time. GPS that shit is like a little helpful robot most ghetto people don't have....so we get lost a lot, but since we had that shit we went everywhere on time and on point.

-- next day we get to dilated peoples studio and make a banger with dj babu for my hood politics V cd and mix a rough of "gunz gon blow" a joint for babu's next album, duck season 3.Both are ill, but the one on babu's album is bazerk.. Be on the look out for that one. We also go to a party later on that night with naked girls rockin body paint, that shit was ill.

-- next day we get up with evidence and make a banger, dude is cool as hell, he did the beat and rapped on that one. We called it "low iq" for all you dumb muthafuckaz out there.

-- same night I go up to the world famous wakeup show on Power 106...this was my first time and I bodied that shit effortlessly, somewhere around 104 bars. Let's just say I was welcomed back. Shout out to DJ Revolution.

NYC
we "Tore down Sob's" like Joell Ortiz on several Tuesday's. In the building was Termanology, ST. Da Squad, Keith Murray, Erick Sermon, Red Café, DJ Envy, D-Block...etc...What started out as a showcase for Koch Records & Hot 97 ended up being one of the livest shows in NYC I've ever seen...as Keith Murray was crowd surfing...lol….shout out to everyone who was in the building.

Philly
later that week we had a show in Philly, had a good time out there. They got some fine ass girls down there, ask my man Ghetto. The first night Statik Selektah was spinning at some club and I got thrown out before 12 because I was way too bent. Its cool I went to the telly and knocked out ASAP. We killed it, the next day at the show...my man reks tore it down with us. He got a very good reaction from the crowd. We definitely gonna bring him with us when we go back next time. Shout out the kid Big Lou and shout out to Reef The Lost Cauze, they also were in the building.

Tune in next week as we take you inside the studio with Lil Fame, DJ Premier and finish up hood politics V.

Week 5: Boston, MA & Bronx, NY

THE BOSTON HIP HOP FEST WAS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE. IN ATTENDANCE ED O.G., 4 PEACE, TERMANOLOGY, ST. DA SQUAD, AKROBATIK, MR. LIF, KRUMBSNATCHA, TRIPLE THREAT, FRANKIE WEINRIGHT, D-TENSION, SULLE (WHITE RAPPER SHOW) LOL ... AND MANY MORE.

THAT IN ITSELF IS CRAZY, BECAUSE THAT IS THE FIRST SHOW WHERE ALMOST EVER RAP CREW IN BOSTON HISTORY WAS IN THE BUILDING. ONE AFTER ANOTHER THE ACTS ALL TORE IT DOWN IN THE SOLD OUT CLUB. THE CROWD WAS DEEP WITH (500+) PEOPLE. THE FANS WERE IN HIGH GEAR TOO. WHEN I HIT THE STAGE THE CROWD LOST IT. PEOPLE WERE SCREAMING MY NAME, CHANTING ST.,ST.,ST. AND SINGING ALL THE LYRICS TO "WATCH HOW IT GO DOWN" AS IF IT WAS ON MTV 24 HOURS A DAY. IT TURNED OUT TO BE ONE OF THE GREATEST NIGHTS IN THE MASSACHUSETTS RAP SCENE EVER. SCIENTIFIK(RIP)WOULD BE PROUD.

THE DAY AFTER THAT, I POP UP IN STATIK SELEKTAH'S HOME STUDIO AND HE IS WORKING ON THIS SAIGON MIXTAPE WITH SCRAM JONES. THIS TAPE IS FUCKIN BANANAS. IT FEATURES 30 UNRELEASED SCRAM JONES AND SAIGON TRACKS AND STATIK IS MIXING THEM ALL TOGETHER. SOME REAL CLASSIC EAST COAST SHIT, IF U DON'T GOT IT YET, MAKE SURE YOU PICK IT UP. I ALSO SNATCHED UP A CRAZY ASS SCRAM BEAT FOR HOOD POLITICS 5. BE ON THE LOOK OT FOR THAT SHIT TOO!

UNTIL NEXT WEEK, STAY TUNED AS WE BRING U IN THE LAB WITH DJ PREMIER AGAIN AND HIT UP THE STUDIO WITH LEGENDARY D.I.T.C. MEMBER BUCKWILD.

Week 4: New York City

It's 6pm Thursday night. I walk into the studio and i can feel it already, I'm about to get one of the illest beats ever created. In attendence Showbiz and AG, DJ Premier, Statik Selektah, Dan Green, myself and the two fly puerto rican chicks we brought with us.

Tonight I will be working on my new single in the same room that Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Big-L, Gangstarr and many more recorded their first albums. Am I nervous u ask? Nah I been here before, and last time I left with "Watch How It Go Down" so I'm feeling real confident today.

Preem is looking thru samples and getting ideas for the track because unlike other producers, he won't just give u a beat cd. He makes you the beat right there on the spot. What a privilege right? HELL FUCKIN YEAH!

By the end of the night I end up leaving with the monster Preem refers to as "HEY". A crazy ass beat with the signature preem bounce and the illest intro ever. Once again I struck gold!

Tune in next week as we wrap us Hood Politics V, review the Boston hip hop unity fest and take you in the lab with Scram Jones and Statik Selektah.

Termanology - Week 3: Boston, MA

It was a special night in the bean. Over 15 crews in one room and no beef, which proves Hip-Hop is still alive.

In the building was TERMANOLOGY, EA$Y MONEY, ST. DA SQUAD, REKS, CHECKMARK (Skitzofreniks), DRE ROBINSON, R.A.P. SQUAD and more.

The second ST. takes the stage, the crowd goes crazy! They been waiting patiently all night for EA$Y MONEY & TERMANOLOGY (ST.).

The crowd knows most of the words to all the songs, which is rare at an underground Hip-Hop show. These are clearly no bar hopping regulars...these are die hard fans.

Before the night is done TERM and EA$Y have the whole place chanting "ST....ST....ST."

All these different artists and crews coming together only means one thing; the police are watching intently..waiting for some BEEF to break out. But it never does! One of the only times a crowd of 50 will ever scream "FUCK THE POLICE" and get away with it!

DOPE NIGHT!

Stay tuned next week as we'll bring u in the lab with DJ PREMIER and also finish up Hood Politics V with BIG MIKE & STATIK SELEKTAH.

Termanology - Week 2: Orlando, Fla

We arrive in Orlando. It's 85 degrees out. There's lots of Termanology promo flyers, they paper the electrical poles, and utility boxes, and anywhere else you can imagine. Within the first couple of hours I do three DVD and radio interviews, coincidentally one of them was on "Smilez and SouthStar" radio show, while my manager is loungin, and my hype man Ea$y Money, and DJ Dead Eye are swimming in the pool.

Around ten o'clock we arrive at the AKA Lounge everyone in the building seems real eager to see us tear it down. Not the ice grill crowd tonight everyone's there to see the show.

Turned out to be an amazing show, one of our best. By the end of the night the dudes in the crowd and the groupies were showing heavy love, you could hear H-U-S-T-L-E-R hustler from the crowd in high volume. We're definitely going back to Orlando soon.

Tune in next week for a check up on the Boston show and the NY Power 105 show.

Termanology - Week 1: Brooklyn, NY

This week was crazy as usual in the life of Termanology. During his busy schedule, while touring and recoding his debut album, he was able to start a whole new project with rap legend Lil Fame of M.O.P. In attendance today at the hot, loud and very smokey studio is Lil Fame and Billy Danze of M.O.P., DJ Statik Selektah, Term, Ghetto of ST. Da Squad, DJ Deadeye, Cyrus Da Zine, Tone Corleony and his manager Dan Green... Fame is making Term a new beat for the project and everybody in the room is nodding their head intensely. With all the Hennessey, Coronas, Grey Goose and Bob Marley going around you’d think it was a party going on in the studio tonight. But nope, Term and Fame are focused, and the music is sounding crazy as ever. Fame bangs on the MPC pads only stopping to make fun of someone or to take a shot of henny. This project could be something incredible assuming this is the regular vibe in the studio. Until next time stay tuned.
