Yo, hip-hop DX I'm sorry about the wait. I'm a slackin ass motherfucker. So what's been up with me since the last blog? Well I don't know if it was already said, but my life is a lot different being that my dad died on New Years Eve. So '08 got off to a rough start for me. It also disrupted a lot of things in my life being I had to do a lot of traveling I wasn't expecting to do in January. But all in all, I'm good. My dad was a great person, and I'll miss him until I'm buried myself, but he also didn't spend his energy being angry or unhappy about things that he couldn't change, so I'm trying to follow his example. Anyway, I've been having some cash flow problems this last year, so I remedied that by getting a second job, which is running me ragged right now. I work 7 days a fuckin week people. Mondays and Tuesdays are like my days off because the workload is light and the hours are short, but never the less I work every day of the week. It's been great for my pockets and horrible for my art and social life. But fuck it, work is work, and I need that income. You know I didn't even think about it but its totally possible that none of you give a damn what my personal life is like, and I haven't said anything about any of the projects I'm working on, so I digress. The StashBox is coming along nicely and for the most part done (NOTE: Tape is now finished... [click to download] ... check it out!) The DC/CP album is next up for work, along with my solo full-length album, which is as of yet untitled. But both projects already sound crazy, soon all yall will hear what I'm talkin bout. Then the project with Midi Marc and myself is already off to a crazy start, and he keeps sending my fire ass beats, I know that record is going to be off the chain as well. I fit marks beats in a way that makes me wonder if we've known each other before this life started. Anyway that's my crazy ass update holla at cha boi www.myspace.com/cprhymes
Peace readers. I'm not sorry about the wait ... nor am I a slackin ass mother fucker ... I just been banging out music and chicks left and right. (baby if you're reading this I'm so sorry you know you're my world and those other bitches don't mean shit to me ... remember when you caught me and Melody last night ... we really were wrestling and yes I was sleeping next to you the whole night on friday...and all those naked pics of my boys mom and I were photoshopped) ... anyway I been busy working as well ... not on some slave cook me them mozzarella sticks and southern friend CP bullshit but on some my boss is a cheap fuck and I don't get paid half as much as I deserve shit ... wait ... did I say I wasn't on some slave work shit. anyway I been working on 3 cds and me and CP's shit is sounding crazzzzzzzzzzzzzy. we got some clever shit on there and have spent numerous hours freestyling gibberish over the phone and taking extreme drugs to design concepts. We even got some help from our fans; one fan wrote "you and CP should do a song about groceries but switch it up and really make it about a robbery" ... our fans are telling us everything not to do with our album and we love it! On the real though cop CPs mixtape ... its $free.99 and its dope ... he got Nappy Roots, Skyzoo, Wordsworth and fools like me on it ... check out my o so classic drop on that bitch as well. I'm dropped a collabs and unreleased project a few weeks back [click to download] ... me and CP gonna throw some quick bullshit together for the next blog as well .... peace

Yo what up world, whats the deal, this is the blog, and I am CP. I had a good thanksgiving, gained some weight and chilled with some good people. My baby girl had to go back home to Tennessee the day of though, because she had to fuckin work the next day!.... on some fuckin bullshit. Anyway that sucked, then the next day my mom wakes me up and tells me that my dad has been in a car accident and they are air lifting him to the hospital... I think I got dressed and showered in under 30 seconds and i was out the door and in the car before we actually knew which hospital they were taking him too. We found out and drove down there, and after about an hour of waiting we finally got to see him. Turns out he got rear ended at 55 mph and pushed into on coming traffic only to have another head on collision at around the same speed. He was in a 1984 Toyota Tacoma pick up truck with a wooden bed, no airbags and a seat belt that snapped upon his second collision. He has fractures in his left wrist, two of the finger on that hand, and his sternum. He also chipped his pelvis and bruised his lungs, but overall he is okay (as crazy as that sounds). I thought I was gonna loose my dad... something id never wish on anyone. Now watching him in the hospital I find it hard to imagine the type of pain he must be going through, this was such a serious accident that the EMS workers told him they couldn't believe he was alive. All because some fuckin piece of shit wasn't paying attention to what he was doing on the road... containing my fucking murderous rage toward this person is very hard, especially because we know nothing about the accident accept what my dad has told us.
Let me say that again in case you didn't catch it: The only fucking person who has been able, or willing to tell us what happened to my father is he himself. The police have made no attempt to contact us and let us know insurance information, accident report information, weather or not the waste of human life that plowed into the back of my dads car was drunk or not. They didn't even set foot in the hospital where he was admitted. So, I call them the night he is put into the hospital, and this pig that answers the phone has the gull to tell me to wait 2 weeks for the accident report, and that they won't just send it to us, we have to send a self addressed stamped envelope to the station and they will send the report off to us. I have a feeling the scene between me and the boys down at the station might not turn out so pretty if they don't work with me when I go down there to get the insurance info.
Anyway all this bullshit aside, I played the show at the Knitting Factory last week and it went down real nice like, everybody had a good time, everyone else on the bill was ill, and we partied hard. Ive set up a plan for getting on my performance game when i get back to Tennessee, and I have a lot of work yet to do while I'm still here in the NY, NJ area. Don ripped his set at the KF show by the way, ripped it so hard they gonna have to Knit a new stage over there. aight I'm out, holla at cha boi myspace.com/cprhymes, holla.
First off I want to send my love out to CP and his family right now. I actually got a chance to spend some time over at CPs crib a few months back while recording our joint album and his parents were two of the sweetest, coolest people I've ever met. Besides the great food and music they provided a place I almost called home. Not only were they funny and had endless stories to tell but they supported CP and even me 100% in the booth! Yo CP we gotta get them on this CD, I got the track in mind already. Anyway, it was a great experience and seeing them again at the Knitting Factory (coming all the way from bumblefuck Jerz) wasn't even a surprise. This situation is so crazy and really gives us time to sit back and reflect on everything - the good and the bad. Regarding the Knitting Factory and CPs first show - I never seen someone so nervous do so good. haha! CP was shittin bricks but wound up remembering all his joints anyway. Below is some video from my set during the show, well try to get more on here next time. I'm going to end this blog early and save all for next time folks. In the meanwhile, get better CPops!

Before reading this blog you should know that Cerino and CP were not together for it's creation...in fact Cerino wrote his part of the blog about a month before we got CP's half...so this might seem a bit disjointed. No need to fret, CP is now in NY for at least a month and we will have plenty more blogs for ya' soon.
So we should have been on blog #5 by now, but CP scared us and played a "make everyone think I'm dead or locked up" trick. I hate those. I told that fool from the start - I'll do this CD under one condition - neither of us pull a "make everyone think I'm dead or locked up" trick. Me, I was really locked up, on some bullshit tip - scratchin' numbers in the walls so I don't forget them - but I had proof - bologna sandwiches with no cheese and molded bread, new friends with felonies, and a weeping mama. Anyway CPs been lost in the mix for a bit but so have I - at least from this music thing. I started a new 9-5, which is more like an 8-6 and its kickin' my ass. The plan is get enough to money to get out of debt, get my own place, hook up a real studio, and afford to put together a track with Fat Beauty produced by Premo. So far so good, except the Fat Beauty thing - does anyone have a direct contact to this guy? So while CPs been playing hide and seek with the world and attempting to get his hand pregnant, i forgot what our CD sounds like. somehow I remember most lyrics (yeah I'm nice like that) but I'm dying to hear the music. Jon (manager) and Joe (engineer) forgot what it sounds like as well and are excited, shaking in their little bootleg timbs from 27th. (Jon/Joe edit: Cerino is pissed about his shoe game or lack thereof) Jon and Joe should actually open a pizzeria or a restaurant just because Jon and Joe's sounds so good. I'll do the marketing. Speaking of marketing it's time to start really thinking of ideas for this CD, putting final touches on it, getting our secret (muahahahaha) collabs, and getting this shit to a label. We all got other surprises in the mix but i guess you'll have to wait til CP hops out the tree with the pro tools sessions. Anyway stay tuned for some good blogs, funny material, and a bunch of other silly shit - I'm so sick of normal blogs. It seems everyone has a blog now, I think Whoopi Goldberg has a blog on one of these sites actually. I recently seen a rapper I do not like on a site I do love talking about things I don't want to hear about (keepin' up?). So, just for that, our next blog will be question and answer style...first with CP asking me questions (that I do not know about yet) and me asking CP questions in the forthcoming.
p.s. Random thought - we should call the album HIDE AND SEEK. I got the cover in my head already. haha
So here's whats been the deal with me. I have been in Tennessee since we got together to start recording the album, and haven't had a job since I came back. Shit has been kinda rough, especially since my car is dead, and it looks like its gonna be cheaper just to buy another car rather than fix this one. Sharing a car with my girl is tough, she gets off work at like 4 in the mourning and now that I do have a job it's concrete staining and I gotta be up at 7 in the morning. Sleep is a commodity at this point, plus getting ready for this show in November needs to kick into high gear. So theirs my fuckin life right now, throw in some eating, drinking, and smoking and that's my daily. But who really gives a fuck about that shit, you wanna hear about the music. I have a mix tape finally fuckin finished, waiting for the final touches from BK1. This tape is dope, I've been trying to think of what I want to do for design and title and stuff and that shit is always so hard for me to decide. I suck with that shit, but I want every aspect of it to reflect me, so I feel like I need to have my fingers in every aspect of making it. Anyway, that's probably gonna be online for download soon, and I really wanna have it for sale at the November 16th show at the Knitting Factory. Here's to hopping that happens (take a shot). The album that Don and I are recording sounds amazing but has been on a little hiatus. But don't worry well be back on it soon, and when that shit drops it will be the most beautiful day ever… I think that album will be ill. But I digress, right now I gotta go to bed its fuckin 6:25 am… night.

How's it going everybody? Some time has passed since we last blogged about the making of our album, however rest assured we have been doing many great and productive things since we last spoke… or we've been sleeping till noon, then starting our days off with a wake and bake, either way, shit is happening. Yea, so I have left NY; well NJ to be real, (cuz we actually recorded the tracks at my parents house, in NJ) I've been back in TN for just shy of a week now, and have done some editing on the tracks we recorded. But from where I'm standing it still looks like a pile of work, not to mention we still have some outstanding tracks that we are going to have to put together through e-mail correspondence and I don't even have the internet at my crib right now. So that blows. I just moved in with my girl, and things are still in limbo over there, we don't have TV either… well we have a TV; it just doesn't get any stations for some reason. However this has forced me to do other more creative things in the time being, such as make dope beats: I've started doing everything from samples, no pre-packaged instruments at all, and so far I have produced two of my dopest most intricate and experimental beats yet… so yea, I've also been writing allot, and mixing the album as I said earlier. Oh and before I end my section of the blog, I need to make a big dedication here. My man DJ Truth Speaks is moving up, up, and away to Cincinnati to work with The Animal Crackers, a dope group of DJs up there in the Nati, and I just wanted to wish him good luck and tell everyone that reads this to check him, and his music out. He's one of my top friends on www.myspace.com/cprhymes. So check that shit out, and big shouts to my boy, for makin the move he needed to make, live long and prosper brother.
Being that CP does not have internet it took us 10 days and 600 pigeons to get this message across country (possible CD cover?). Please, if anyone is reading this and loves good music, donate some money to the "help CP in life foundation", 100% of your money will go to CP's weed addictio..... internet and phone bill. Anyway, not a crazy amount of progress has been going on on this end as far as the collab CD. I wrote a few more verses and am patiently waiting to hear some of these final mixes. I just started my new job so I could finally save up some money and pay my lawyer fees *takes a shot of patron*, CP TV IS ON THE WAY KID! Regardless if progress isn't being made on my behalf for the project, some kind of progress is always being made. As I said earlier I got a new job, plus I been promoting my mixtape like crazy. I got some spins on both DJ Hyphens show out in Seattle on kube 93 and Peter Rosenbergs show on hot 97 which were both great looks - props to both of them. Anyway I'm tired so I'm keeping this as short as possible, next blog well probably have something exclusive for you, plus current event shit talk. you already know - www.myspace.com/doncerino - download the mixtape if you haven't already. peace.

What’s up world? It’s a brand new day and a brand new blog on hiphopdx with two brand new artists – CP and myself, Don Cerino. This blog is dedicated to giving you a view into our world as we create our joint album over the next few weeks. Basically were starting somewhere near the bottom and giving you some insight as we make our way up. Being the first blog, its only right to introduces ourselves and let you know a little about what we’ve been doing and who we’ve been working with.
Coming straight from where it started, Bronx, NY I been at this music shit for the past five years and am finally at a point I’m happy with.I released a CD March of last year entitled The Rap Game Is A Joke hosted by Statik Selektah that moved about 1,000 units out the trunk. You might have heard my joints on hiphopdx, hiphopgame, or certifiedhiphop.com or caught me on tape with your girl, either way shout to anyone checking for me and supporting all I’ve been doing. My next mixtape “Nothing In Life Is Free hosted by Mr. Peter Parker” is set for release this week and is basically the new starting point to the new hustle. The tape includes joints with Reef the Lost Cauze, Emilio Rojas, Silent Knight, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Tunji of Inverse, Napsndreds and more, with ridiculous production from dudes like Statik Selektah, Domingo, ReaLson, Croup, Incise, and more. Craziest part about this mixtape is that it’s FREE. Time for promotion. If you want a copy of the tape just hit www.doncerino.com and hit me up anytime with some feedback, I’d be more than happy to hear the criticism, good or bad.
The next two weeks are going to be real hectic.Besides the press release for mymixtape and spending more quality time with your girl, my boy CP came up from TN and were planning on finishing this whole album within that time.We sat and brainstormed the shit out of the project the first day, trying to provide something different that you wouldn’t expect from either of us as artists over some really dope production.Speaking of which-beat selection was CRAZY.CP brought his batch of beats from dudes he’s been working with and I brought mine as well. It’s pretty hard to narrow down 200+ beats down to 15 or so but we got crackin’.We still ain’t down to the final 15 but we got about 7-9 definite tracks.Every time we meet up we come through with more joints and after this blog hopefully we’ll have more. Anyway as hyped as I am and as much as I want to write I’m gonna’ hand this off to my man CP. Peace world. Get at me!
Hello my name is CP (myspace.com/cprhymes) and I’m… not an alcoholic, but I am from New Jersey.I’m livin’ in Tennessee, cuz that’s where my fly honeydip resides, and where the grandmas is wild.I’m the kid from whatever movie you liked recently, oh especially if it was the 6th Sense. But yo all sarcastic cryptic bullshit aside, the first week of this album fiasco has been slow but steady, we have made some headway writing and picking beats, but still have a lot to accomplish; there’s mounds of work ahead as far as trying to make this album a cohesive piece of dried cow dookie, right now its more like chunky diarrhea: lots of ideas, but not much structure.I can say that so far the stuff that I have been writing is a little different than my personal music, in that although all of the things I rhyme about are from my own life experiences, I’ve strung them into different arrangements to create a new character, so it feels like rhyming from another perspective however close to my own.
My manager is making me name drop now and between the two projects I have been working on my album and mixtape I have worked with: Brother Ali, Sadat X, C Rayz Walz, Skyzoo, The Nappy Roots, R.A. The Rugged Man, and several other surprise guests possibly including Dikembe Mutombo screaming about wallets and chocolate (for real the others dudes are on my tapes).I’m working on this album with Don and then the mixtape and then the album.Get the fine silver and your best bong out, were comin’ to a town near you, sooner than you think.Done.CP
Shout outs:Croup, Incise, Frank Dukes, Joseph Random Apex, , Mr. Peter Parker (mrpeterparker.com), Joel over at HHDX, Fat Beauty (Retox coming soon!) J Master, DJ Small Head, and everyone else that will contribute to this project.
