Some call it Hip Hop's greatest year, other's will say it was second to only '88. I'll take it 3rd after '92. But no matter where you rate it, hotdamn it was good. Here are 20 random songs from nine four.
1. Check the bassline, sound familiar? Brother Ali, Diamond D and House of Pain have all rocked it. 2. More classic Kingz 3. Prince Paul's finest skit, this song was pure madness 4. One of the most slept on albums of all-time. Beatnuts on the board 5. My obsession with MC Eiht is well documented, jeah 6. Premier was untouchable in 94 7. Great flip on the classic original 8. Burn Hollywood Burn 9. PPP! 10. One of my all-time favorite PE songs 11. One group that killed me when they split 12. Remember what I said about Eiht? 13. This song takes me right down that lane 14. One of the hardest beats ever 15. This guy was alright 16. They don't make drums like they used to 17. No one else could cover this song 18. Sone of my favorite opening bars ever... 19. Sun Born was a beast 20. Guru at his finest

Sure this won't get as many listens as our recent Atmosphere playlist (almost 1.4 million in less than 2 days!), but the customer satisfaction is just as high. Enjoy, or die.
Notes 1. One of my favorite Pac song, posthemous or otherwise. Eminem MURDERS this beat. Shit is just so hard. 2. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Marley bumped this beat at the Juice Crew reunion show, shit was made for the Boomin' Systems indeed. 3. Just like Compton's Most Wanted and DJ Quik, Above The Law's career was ruined (or at least greatly underappreciated), due to the attention-hogging juggernaut that was NWA and later Cube/Death Row. Blame New York, they could only give so many on the left coast props at once. 4. Back wwhen Dilla was Dee and folks complained his beats were too good for the emcees. Agreed. 5. Who is this Premier guy I keep hearing about? 6. Ed was the swaggar before swaggar was swaggar. God I hate that word 7. Scott Storch on boards here, silky 8. De La remains unfuckwitable 9. Hit it from the back? This song has a whole new meaning for Prodigy these days. Hopefully his boyfriend raps this to P every time he violates Lunch Line P 10. Don't front, Pete Rock for President

Another week, another ten random tracks from the 160 gb iPod. Pretty sold mix of old and new this week. A few notes this week:
1. Pretty dope little acoustic remix here, nice alternative to the original 2. Tim Dog was the illest, pure recklessness. He may have got served by Quik, Snoop and the like...but still, he was boss 3. Eric B For President...22 years later and its as fresh as it ever was 4. Feel On It...this Focus beat is a monster 5. Probably the best verse of Esoteric's career, delivery is crazy 6. The Masters of Illusion album is so overlooked its criminal. Motion Man, Kutmasta Kurt and Kool Keith had crazy chemistry. Kurt took a time machine to 87 NYC here, too dope. 7. Just peachfuzz on DOOM's face here, no mask
