I really used to believe that you could get anything on craigslist, but now I KNOW you can get anything on Craigslist. Of course there’s the easy to find unlocked Iphone, or tranny hookers the site offers, but I wondered, what CAN'T you find on the site? I needed something to look for. Illegal wasn't an issue, as 'stitutes had their faces plastered all over the site, however I knew that illegal was a lot easier to find than legal. So the obvious thing to look for came to my mind....Kush. Yes indeed, if Cali is so overflowed with Kush, it should be on Craigslist right? True indeed. I won't tell you how exactly to find the add, I won't tell you the price, I also won't tell you if I contacted the guy to purchase, but it was there. I couldn't find it as easily as an AIDS infected hooker with a cock. I couldn't get it at the nearest liquor store like I can a 100 proof bottle of gin. (Actually I could when I was in the hood). Why not?
A couple of days after finding Kush on Craigslist, I found myself watching "The Untouchables". For those that don't know it's a movie about some cops going after well known mobsters in the era of prohibition. Most cops were corrupt, bought out with money, and winos constantly drunk on moonshine, however, this group of cops couldn't be bought, and wouldn't drink a sip. At the end of the movie, the lead detective Elliot Ness is informed after helping bring Al Capone to justice that the government may end prohibition. When asked what he thought about it, he says "I may just have a drink," Like that, it's over. This movie was mainly fictional, however in real life, it happened somewhat just like that. The shit was illegal one day, cats were getting arrested for selling moonshine, the next it was legal to drink liquor. If this was done so easily then, why not now?
Is marijuana worse than liquor? How many people have smoked themselves to death with marijuana? How many people have died of alcohol poisoning? How many people have died in car crashes from marijuana? How many people have died drinking and driving? People against legalization of marijuana say that you can't really figure out how many deaths have been caused by marijuana. Why the hell not? If I go to try and get a job, and I smoked the day before, they can tell by a drug test I've been puffing piff, and not hire my ass. Why can't they prove how many deaths have been caused by marijuana? Sounds like BS to me. Even worse, another man made people killer, cigarettes are sold all day every day. I'd be a horrible person IF i smoked weed days prior to going to work, yet other people can smoke cigarettes AT work every day, spreading cancer all around. What ARE the true negatives of marijuana? Ask yourself; are they worse than alcohol or cigarettes? Marijuana alters your mind, but is it that much worse than the effect alcohol has on you? Does Marijuana have a worse effect on your health than cigarettes?
I can't FACTUALLY answer most of those questions, since most people against legalization of marijuana can't supply facts about the negatives of marijuana. I can tell you about some of the positives of the legalization of marijuana. First and foremost, the legalization of marijuana would MAKE money for the government, and SAVE money for the government. Money would be made obviously off the sale and tax of marijuana. Marijuana is America's second biggest cash crop behind corn. Too bad it's illegal. The money made from the taxation of marijuana could be flipped so many different ways. The government would save money by NOT spending it to arrest and jail people for marijuana use and sale. Jail cells would be available for REAL criminals, like rapists and murderers
Those are the just the major effects of the legalization of marijuana. There are several smaller ones. For instance, with marijuana legalized, it would be sold in stores, putting the local weed dealer out of business. Now, you'd have to be ID'd to get marijuana, keeping herbals out of the reach (in most cases) of minors, who may not be able to handle its effects. Sure they can still get a bum to go by their Cat Piss for a buck from the liquor store, but it would be a lot harder than it is for them to score some Train Wreck now. Another positive to the legalization of marijuana, would be for the marijuana smoker. That's right burnout, you'd now be able to go to the store and buy a variety of flavors right there over the counter. No more subscriptions to that crap ass magazine "High Times" to find out what's the latest high grade herb, you can just go to the store and see...."Oh shit, they got some shit called Frosted Flakes..."
I'm sure you've heard all of this before, so why IS marijuana illegal still? Some say because of racial stereotypes. Marijuana is tied to certain people who aren't the "majority" as was alcohol back when nobody wanted to be considered Irish. So since "those" people like marijuana so much, it's wrong. Politicians need to get off that bullshit. Stop being afraid of being "black"listed, and keep it real, the legalization of marijuana would help this country a whole lot in several ways. Whether you like reefer or not, you can't deny the legalization of it wouldn't help, and you also can't prove it's any worse than liquor or cigarettes.
I'm sure I could also make an argument for the legalization of prositution...but that'd be a whole nother blog....Street Sounds Saturday Bitches!!!!!
