     A year ago T.I. was the guy to be. He was on top of the rap game. The south ran rap, and T.I. ran the south. Lil Wayne, the self proclaimed best rapper alive, even proclaimed T.I. the king of the south. T.I. was that dude. That rapping shit is small though...on the big screen; dude was shooting flicks besides none other than the legendary Denzel. Fuck dreams of fucking an R&B chick, not only was T.I. banging an R&B chick (whether or not BIG said he would rather fuck another dude than fuck any chick from her group), he was taking this chick to snatch up skripper chicks in the skripper capitol and get it popping with the ménage. Herpes rumors be damned! T.I. would come up in the spot where you blow your money on the low to tip this chick to rub up against you, have his chick holler at this chick, and then she'd bounce with TIP. To most dudes, whether or not they respected Clifford’s emcee skills, T.I. WAS that dude. Oh how the mighty have fallen.....

     Fast forward past the alter egos, the big time movie that everybody saw before it made it to the big screen, and of course past the "No flash, no bang?" statement, and it's hard to tell who has a brighter future in ATL, TIP or Vick. With Mr. F Baby facing criminal charges, and TIP selling off the properties he bragged about while subliminally dissing Luda to pay off legal fees....who shall the kiddies dick ride now? Who shall the haters turn all their hate to know? Well, the easy answer would be Jay Z, but we all know heavy is the head that wears the crown. Of course he has "the hottest chick in the game wearing his chain", but he can't tell off his side chick without getting pics of him thrown all over the internet. Of course he has the most bucks in the rap game (as far as any black people go, cuz we know who's REALLY getting the money), but we all know the IRS is just waiting for Hov to slip one bit, and he'll be sitting in a cell right next to Mr. Big. Would anybody ever really want all the stress of being Jay? I doubt it. So I have a better answer....Common.     The man brought into this world as a crack baby (I really believe that) couldn't be doing better. When he co-starred next to T.I., I'm pretty sure he didn't know that T.I. was getting ready to plummet, and his stock was gonna skyrocket, but it looks like that's how things are going down. The Grammy award winning emcee is definitely on the right track. Off his role in "American Gangster" and probably his shining scene in a movie that was pretty much ass (Smoking Aces) Com's definitely carrying his SAG card cuz baby he's an actor. The man formerly known as Common Sense has upcoming roles in "Wanted" (which I guarantee will be a huge hit, ) next to one of the few white chicks whose walls I'd love to knock down (Angelina Jolie)and Hollywood's favorite second fiddle nigga (Morgan Freeman), and "Street Kings" (which I guarantee will be ass, but the hood will love it) next to one of the worst actors in the history of acting (uhh...dude, Keanu Reeves) and the only person less likely to be from the gang he claims than Lil Wayne (Butterfl....I mean Game). Com definitely has that Hollywood paper rolling in. With all the rumors flying around, who knows who he'll be spending some of it on for Valentine’s Day?

     That's right, the ladies love cool Com. The only rapper to have felt Alicia Keys up in multiple videos, is also rumored to be tapping Serena Williams. Oh...she doesn't date black guys? Com's game must be on point. He has to have a mouth piece, remember he said on one album he was wondering how good Mary J's pussy must be, and then he got her to do a feature on the next album? Post-fucked up pants and Erykah's amazing womanly powers, Common is "rumored" to be hitting one of the nicest asses in the celebrity world. You can't hate on that fam...but did I mention he could rap?

     Nobody is fucking with Com...no seriously. One of my favorite things about Common is how he attempts to subliminally bait rappers into a battle. Remember how he did Cube? He doesn't kill soloist, he only kills squads. Com did Westside Connection pretty bad...and I'm from the west coast. Com says shit often and you know exactly what and who he's talking about, but post Cube murdering, nobody wants to respond.

Do you really believe 50 didn't know his buddy Kweli's (yea, I said it, 50's buddy Kweli) buddy Com tossed that jab at him? As much attention as he paid to Kanye, he has to have heard the music coming out of Ye's camp. He knows what the deal is though. He knows that would have been a horrible mistake. I've already stepped up and said Common is the best rapper of all time, whether you agree (probably not, cuz major media spots haven't said it yet, and of course sheep don't think for themselves...how else would B.I.G be the greatest of all time with two albums that both contained their fair share of garbage?) or not. However, if you don't, you can't place him far from the top, and apparently your favorite rapper has either acknowledged his skill, or doesn't want it with him...or maybe both.

     Speaking of favorite rappers, one of my favorites...Murs, he puts together this little show, I don't know if you've heard about it, it's called "Paid Dues Festival". It's March 22nd and it'll feature Dilated Peoples, Little Brother, Hiero, Boot Camp Click, and several other dope acts. I'll be there, get your ticket now; it's definitely worth the $45. If you’re not out west...I pity the fool...nah, it'll probably come to your hometown eventually, and they’ll probably throw it on Rock the Bells like they did last year. Don't miss it.
