Back again. I’m tired as hell, but I wanted to put something up for Tuesday, cuz I don’t know what the hell I’m gonna do tomorrow. I’ve just been hella busy dealing with other shit and it’s left me exhausted. Anywayz, I’ve been writing here for some months, and I got a group of people that check my blog frequently, and we agree on a lot of shit….However…recently I seen two of these people post something I don’t agree with in any shape or form….let’s backtrack…

XBOX360>Wii>PS3
yup most def
Yea, so I wanted to do a blog about PS3 before, but there’s no time better than now….
“You old school like Coleco kicko, my game’s like PS3 or sattelite radio”
Prodigy “Stick and Move”
Yea, so I’m not gonna attempt to go over anyone’s head. I love games, and I’ve been playing the shit since I was young, but I’m not gonna front like I’m a super tech nerd and know all there is to know. I know more than the average Joe, but since Joseph is who I’m writing for, I’m gonna break it down for him. First and foremost, I’m no fan boy.(translated into hip hop terms, a Stan) I fuck with whatever is good. I don’t have money to buy a product simply because it’s made by a certain company. When Xbox 360 first dropped, I went out and hustled my way into one. Last generation Xbox was clearly superior to PS2 and Gamecube. It was obviously the stronger system, it was the only system with a built in hard drive, and it had the best online gaming by far. Not only did the Xbox 360 look promising, it was the first system released, so at the time, far as next gen went, you had no choice. I got the system in early December, (I believe a little over a month after it came out) it broke before Christmas. The “three lights of doom” as it’s referred to, meant that I would be spending my Christmas system-less. I sent it out with my a hard drive (I had a premium system) they sent me back a core system (you can tell because the disk drive was silver on the premium, they sent me back a white one) and no hard drive. Not only did they send it back the wrong system with no hard drive, the system was left sitting on my porch in a box for any random ass person to steal. I complained, threatened, and just straight up cursed out Microsoft employees. After already buying another hard drive ($100), MS (Microsoft) sent me another hard drive about a month after not sending one back. About 8 months later, after playing some games at night, I woke up to play online some more, only to find my system was broken. Why??? Who knows (maybe because they sent me a piece of shit system they “fixed” when someone else sent it in, but who knows) I called in to Microsoft, and after giving the serial number to the system (which wasn’t my original system anyway) they told me that my warranty was up, and I’d have to pay $126 to get the system fixed. Excuse me? Fuck you, I’m going to Sony. Well, actually, I didn’t. I went back and bought another 360. It worked perfectly fine, but I got tired of it, and afraid that it might break on me, so I went to Craigslist, sold my system, my games, and all my accessories for $500. I then turned around and bought a PS3 for the same price. I’ve had my PS3 for 4 or 5 months…no problems. What does this have to do with comparing the two systems? (since the Wii is a cheap gimmick and a gay ass name for a system) Absolutely nothing, that was just used to explain my experience with the two systems, and to show that I had both of them. Now for the real shit….
Ok, so I already know what people want to say, and I’m gonna address those issues first and foremost:
a. I know you’re not gonna try and tell me PS3 has no games? First of all, the system hasn’t been out that long. It came out November of 2006. Like 8 months ago. 8 months into X360 I had, Ghost Recon Rainbow Six and Oblivion. PS3 came with 2 solid exclusive titles (Resistance Fall of Man, and MotorStorm), the aforementioned Rainbow Six and Oblivion, and a downloadable Tekken game. While I believe that puts it above the 360 at the same time frame, look at the future. At E3 Microsoft showed a lot of the same shit they showed last year, Halo, Bioshock, and Mass Effect. While all of these games will be good, what’s new? Nothing. Those are Microsoft’s exclusives for the holiday season. PS3 on the other had brought Heavenly Swords, Drakes Fortune, Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk, SOCOM, Unreal Tournament 2007 ( or is it 2008? You know what the hell I mean), and Haze. If you don’t know about these games, check them out. Only 3 of them are sequels, but they all look to be big, and they’re all coming out this holiday season. I’m not even speaking on Next year. Before you say anything, yea, I know Haze and UT will be released on X360 next year, but that’s next year, and they’ll just be ports.
b. Let me guess, you think 360’s online is better right? Sure, it is now, but have you seen home? Home is gonna change online gaming. It’s gonna be an interactive world where you create a character, and can walk around and talk to other gamers. The main feature of Home, is gonna be your home (surprise) in your home you’ll be able to stream videos and music on your hard drive for your friends to check out. Instead of a gamerscore with numbers, you’ll have a trophy room with trophies for your in game accomplishments. You’ll be able to customize you home with furniture and posters to your liking. You’ll even be able to transfer pictures from your cell phone to Home, and frame them. It’s gonna have game specific lobbies with statues of the game’s characters. What the hell does this have to do with gaming? Well, perhaps you take you character over to the “Midnight Club Los Angeles” (dropping January), and get into an argument with someone who says their old school Chevy can smoke your Skyline. You can go straight from home, into Midnight Club online, and show T.I.’s younger cousin that just because a car uses a lot of gas doesn’t mean it goes fast. Yea, Halo isn’t on PS3, but I’d much rather go at it in Warhawk with some grown up gamers, then shoot it out with 11 year olds who continuously refer to me as “the nigger”
c. So you think PS3 cost too much still even after the price drop? Well, if you can’t afford the system it does cost too much. I can’t argue against that, I can’t say it should be no big deal to spend $550 (the price after taxes) because I understand that is a lot of money. However, if you look at what you’re getting, from a value stand point, there’s no way this system costs too much. First and most importantly, the PS3 has a Blu-ray disc drive. You know how much a blu-ray player costs? About $350 for the cheapest one I believe. So basically, you’re paying the $350 for the Blu-ray drive, then $200 for the PS3. I’ll get more into the Blu-ray drive later, but not only do you have that, you have the most powerful system (as I’m told, I mean, look at Oblivion)
d. The games look better on Xbox 360 than they do on PS3 to you? That’s because the developers have been working with Xbox 360 longer. If you look at any console generation, games look better as time goes on. PS3 is only in it’s 8th month.
So yea, that’s what people would say to TRY and go against the PS3, but besides that, what are the positives? First of all, that Microsoft’s decision to not go with HD-DVD drive (oh yea…HD-DVD’s are getting there ass whooped on the movie front, and Blu-ray is a Sony product..good luck getting that on an XBOX) is gonna bite them in their ass. A Blu-ray disc can hold up to 50 gigs. A DVD9 disc holds 9 gigs. See the difference? Companies like Rockstar are already complaining about the lack of disc space on Xbox 360. When companies really get the hang of PS3 and enjoy the extra space on Blu-ray discs what is Microsoft gonna do? Start releasing games on 5 discs like PC did when games started coming on DVD but some people still didn’t have DVD drives on their PC? They already charge 59.99 for games, what are companies gonna charge when they start releasing games on 5 discs? Not only are they lacking space on the discs, since Microsoft didn’t release all their systems with hard drives, companies can’t just assume gamers have one. Another problem Rockstar brought up when making GTA4 for PS3 and Xbox 360.When you do have a hard drive on Xbox 360, what the hell can u do with it? While you can put music on your X360 hard drive, movies…not so much. Yea, you can rent movies from Xbox live, and buy episodes of your favorite TV shows, don’t try and take that to your buddies house, because if you’re not connected to Xbox live to “verify” you content. You can stream videos from your computer to your 360, but you can do that to your PS3 also. You can even copy videos from you IPOD (if you bought a garbage ass IPOD) When I realized I could put movies on my PS3 hard drive I immediately began loading my hard drive up with my favorites so when I get tired of whooping my friends ass at his house in my games, we can check out some movies. PS3 is the ultimate entertainment machine. What does that have to do with gaming? Nothing really, but it’s another reason why the system is better than X360. Take everything I listed, and add in the fact that Xbox 360s have a 33% failure rate, while PS3’s are at 1%....come on dogg. Let’s be real here.
I could keep going on, but I’m hella tired, and really, I don’t think I have to. Don’t it confused, I still think the Xbox 360 is a good system, but it’s nearly as good of a system as PS3 is. Right now X360 has the better games, but by the end of the holiday season, PS3 will hold the advantage in games and online. As far as Nintendo Wii goes…let me quote Reggie Fils Aime “We’re not trying to compete with Microsoft and Sony, where doing something different,” My sentiments exactly. Graphics wise…..not competing. Game wise…their not competing. Online? Does that even have to be asked? As of right now, the online game online for Wii is Pokemon. The Wii is a gimmick. They use that controller to sell. (and the fact that it’s only $249) Once you get tired of flailing your arms around like Harry Potter casting a spell off a gallon of Vodka, you realize how weak the system really is. I wanna play Mario Galaxy, I wanna play Super Smash Bros., but I’m not waving my arms at no damn TV. Don’t give me that “you can play with a gamecube controller,” because once you take away the gay ass Wiimote, the Wii is just the weakest system on the market, with no online (online that matters).
