Honey vs. Vinegar

Why Kanye beat 50....

This is my first ever blog on Kanye and 50, but probably the billionth you have read. I sat back and watched everyone give their reasoning on why Kanye would win, why 50 would win and I never went too in depth with my opinion because neither one of these talented negroes put a dime in my pocket. Now that the numbers are in and Kanye has given us another stellar album full of rhymes with socially redeeming value, I am compelled to give you my thoughts.

In South Carolina I have heard from my elders numerous amounts of times that "you can attract more flies with honey than you can with vinegar."  This saying means that you can attract more people with kind words than with harsh words.  The results of the first week sales reinforce this statement. Walk with me for a second, Kanye and 50 are both on their 3rd albums.While 50 was speaking to us from "In the Club" with a bottle full of bub, Kanye was talking to us "Thru the Wire" and telling us about an accident that changed his life for the better.  When 50 was proclaiming to be a P.I.M.P., Kanye was professing his love for God's son telling us that Jesus Walks amongst us.

By the second album when 50 was in the Candy Shop letting chicks lick the lollipop, Kanye was putting a nation on to the bloodshed that was going on over diamonds in Sierra Leone. Now on their 3rd albums 50's letting us know his love for money, letting us know he will still kill, while Kanye's telling us that we are champions, letting us know to embrace our imperfections because everything your not is what makes you everything you are.  If you where a bee you would initally be attracted to both but only honey is going to satisfy your taste over time and make you want to stay put and continue to consume.  Vinegar will eventually leave you with a bad taste in your mouth and you will lose interest. Now you tell me which rapper is honey and which rapper is vinegar?
