So I just finished writing up this weeks SoundScan Report for DX , and realized that Pac's people are still whoring him out for posthumous CDs. Honestly, let the man rest in peace!! I have 2 theories on why Pac would HATE all of "his" new releases... If these are lyrics he never used while alive theres a reason for that. Either #1 he didnt like them, and never wanted them to see the light of day ...or #2 they were personal, and he never wanted them made public....either way they were never intended for public viewing.
so Pac's latest, Nu Mixx Clazzics V2, debuted this week at a very disappointing #45 with only 15k sold ...thats only about twice as many as Chingo Bling...who???... EXACTLY MY POINT.
I wont lie, I havent listened to a single song from ANY of 2pacs albums made after his death...nor do i care to. who knows? some tracks might be hot ....but i bet Pac wouldnt have approved of half of them. I just get sick when I think of how the lengths people will go to make a dollar off of someone else...
I was a fan of some of 2pac's music while he was alive but.... HE'S BEEN DEAD FOR OVER 11 YEARS!!! THIS IS HIS 7th POSTHUMOUS ALBUM!!! In fact, Tupac has released almost twice as many albums dead than he has while alive (he made 4 while still living if I counted correctly).......so give it a rest, already. These people are ruining his good name.
gracias. and good day.

Back when I was in college, my girl Kamillah told me " I love being in your car...I always hear shit I've never heard before!" And I took that as a HUGE compliment. But I should also note that..."never heard before" doesnt just pertain to CD-Rs of rap music (although, you best believe I got stacks of those too)...but also different GENRES of music....jazz, classical, rock, dub, 2-step, bachata, soca, rock ...all that good stuff....maybe I got it from always beign surrounded by an eclectic group of people...some of my friends rock dreds...other have purple mohawks and I love them just the same.
Ive also realized that many people who support (c)rap music have no tolerance (let alone admiration) for any music outside of rap. They are the people who will love a rap song, yet not realize that the sample used in it was from an old rock n roll classic...nor will they care to educate themselves.
EXPAND YOUR MIND PEOPLE!!
so here are some non-rap songs I love....and before you ig'nant people start posting up "that shits wack, long live weezy and D4L", let me say a collective "fuck you. YOU are the reason wack shit sells."
enjoy. and good day :)
ill post a part 2 soon :)

Although she seems to have lost her damn mind with rumored diva-like antics and an odd fashion-style switch up...i still love me some L-Boogie...If you can get past her appearance, shes still lyrically droppin knowledge both on and off wax. People are always so quick to label people as "insane" or "crazy" because they step away from the norm...people labeled Andre insane when he added the 3000 and started rockin wigs and space suits....but he's still one of the illest to ever hold a mic... even aside from hiphop...people labeled Dave Chapelle as crazy when he walked away from 50Mil cuz he'd rather keep his dignity...
anyway...
this interview was pretty boring to tell you the truth. Its worth listening to in full still..but if your short on time (or easily distracted) fast forward to about -4:35 when lauryn speaks about the current state of hiphop etc "the reason why hiphop had such a strong voice was because it was a defiant message for awhile...it was basically the voice of the voiceless...but once you become the voice of the corporate, you become a different creature"
Amen to all that....
so ofcourse, id LOVE if Lauryn ws still lookin like:
instead of...
but oh well....she's still my girl...
