Peace world!
One thing i've noticed in the urban world and even throughout these random pockets throughout the country, is that dudes think it's so funny to be called, "brotha." It's the saddest thing in the world. I mean, dudes be on the floor rolling. It's not just black and latino dudes either. The whole world, think it's funny to be a "brotha" but it's really an issue when people expect to be disrespected. They accept "nigga" "dog" and "man" more than 'brotha." I wonder why it's so funny? I assume that the majority of people are shocked to be respected or loved. My challenge for you is to replace every "nigga" with "brotha." Not that I'm on my "Al Sharpton shit," i just think that "nigga" is one of those words that usually isn't needed. I think most of us say it because it's become a bad habit. it's '08...let's just challenge ourselves. Why not? Most people are willing to try drugs, sex and Young Jeezy albums. :0) Try something that will help you.
I've approached mad dudes, like, "What's up brotha?" They either give me the Tom Cruz/Vanilla Sky face or they start laughing. It's crazy! I think we should be striving everyday to BE better, more cultured and well rounded-especially my black and brown people. We must get back to the original state-dope, strong and powerful. WE MUST MOVE MOUNTAINS IN '08. So i wanted to take time out to send my apologies to every brotha, I ever called nigga...and bless the niggas I called brothas.
Peep game, that things are changing anyway. Sooner or later everybody is going to get back at glamorizing their roots and I can't wait on NAS' album to see what he has to say. It's gonna look like...'92 around this bitch. Get ya Malcolm X hats ready and red, black and green Cross Color jeans out. Ya dig? So my brothas and sistas, let's get back to the basics and start treatin' ourselves with respect and embrace ourselves. It's important. I think words impact us, more than we think. Niggas are played out. Brothas are cool. Shout out to "THE COOL." Album in stores now. Oh yeah, I dug up some Angie for inspiration. :0)
PEACE!
